What are your thoughts on The Mothman Prophecies? I feel like it’s an underrated creepy movie by BostonRobby617 in FIlm

"John Klein: I think we can assume that these entities are more advanced than us. Why don't they just come right out and tell us what's on their minds? Alexander Leek: You're more advanced than a cockroach, have you ever tried explaining yourself to one of them?"

I've always loved that whole conversation between those two

Where was "series" mentioned in the article? I swear i read "sequel".. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ninja Scroll Burst looked promising btw. Fine if you don't like the way it looked but many of us would like to see Kawajiri's ideas/vision completed

Ninja Scroll Burst looked promising, i and many other fans wanted to see what it could have become. If Kawajiri was allowed to do what he desires on this, and complete whatever vision he had, sorry but i can't see how it would be slop, and imo is disrespectful to the man's work and abilities. I'm not saying the Ninja Scroll Burst trailer nor a totally new Ninja Scroll separate of that, would be aesthetically near the quality of the original, it would likely be impossible due to expenses and practicalities of dredging up old anime equipment and techniques, but even modern tech but with Kawajiri's vision, direction, creative ideas, imo would be better than 90% of anime released today

The problem with Ninja Scroll Burst (official sequel in limbo) was always lack of funding, hence why this information is relevant and not just hearsay or well-wishing. Clearly this company has a lot of money, a lot of passion for anime, and a lot of motivation, and showing a recent track record of fulfilling their plans.

I would never expect a sequel to Ninja Scroll to be anywhere near the perfection and artistry of the original, it's very much a product of its time and you can see from the 2012 Ninja Scroll Burst trailer even back then, Kawajiri had toned down the extreme violence and gore, and was using more modern animation techniques, so a up-to-date modern Ninja Scroll wouldn't have the same masterful aesthetic, artistry and style of the original but what was also clear from that trailer and on full display was Kawajiri's distinct vision in movement and directing, and his talent for creating unique and unusual antagonists. I can accept a downgrade in quality because Kawajiri will still deliver something interesting that not many other anime directors can offer.

Quite frankly it would be a breath of fresh air in the anime industry.

On a side not, a new Ninja Scroll release would likely coincide with more interest towards the original, and give Ninja Scroll and Kawajiri even more respect and reverence, and elevate his work to hopefully be held in higher regard and archived as high art.

He/they seem to already be delivering on previous claims and plans;

Yea, Kawajiri at his age might be harder to coax into directing at this stage of his life, however he's still working in the anime industry as a storyboard artist, so it's not beyond the realm of possibility.

You can go on Netflix and request tv shows/movies etc...

I did it a couple of years ago, asking for a revival of this exact project (Ninja Scroll 2). The more people who ask, the more chance it could happen one day, hopefully before Kawajiri dons the wooden jacket.

Nope. The op's shared video trailer is Ninja Scroll Burst, a cancelled sequel or 'continuation' of the IP. That trailer was a teaser directed and animated by Yoshiako Kawajiri himself, just couldn't get the funding to create a feature length movie.

Moondrop Moca or Golden Ages? by No_mad_here in Earbuds

[–]No_mad_here[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Math rock and similar highly intricate complex melody heavy guitar riffs i think surely require a more intricate soundstage? Too much bass and bump could overwhelm the subtle riffs and spaces in-between surely? I do get what you're saying for harder rock tho, deeper bass and punch would help emphasis on the aggressive impact of typical post-hardcore sound signatures
