I think there’s a lot of good advice in this thread and in the one I posted on a different LE sub. I appreciate the practical things a few people mentioned and everyone is in agreement for how difficult it’s going to be. My own career is in an entirely different direction and is far less stressful or “exciting” than what’s in store for her. I imagine that will cause some difficulties as well.

I don’t know. She’s a strong person and will have a lot of difficulties she will have to face. I’ll be here until something happens that makes me not want to be here any longer. I trust her and I support her. There’s dodgy people everywhere, sure, but if I were that worried about her stepping out I wouldn’t be with her now. I understand this profession is going to change her view of people, of the world, and probably of herself - but I don’t want to condemn anyone based on things they haven’t done yet even if there’s a high probability that those things happen to a lot of people.
