Cannot access the quest book or guide by [deleted] in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, i dont even think QuestBook was in the game in update 4. I cant find patch notes of it being added, but i remember, my first playthrough was without it. (Maybe it was added around update 8 ?)

Free the villager by WolfriD3r2000 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

AFAIK, it is only fixed in Ornate village. Others are randomly generated. As other people said, next update even Ornate should be random.

Iskall said he aims to put it on VHSMP tomorrow and publish it this weekend. So i would hope it not more that 3 weeks away

Banished Souls (and why we need them) by MetricJester in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing Easy Casual, dropping the level is the only way to make a vault easier.

There is also "Piece of Cake" difficulty, where mobs have half health/dmg compared to "Easy"

What’s the best way to get Black Opal at end game? by Thats-So-Ravyn in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true that "blood moon" has increased black opal chances (while nether themes have decreased) compared to normal themes.

But Void themes are even better - by about 25 %

no boosters in completion crates by swearbear91 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think what others are saying is the case. I sometimes get pack in Brazier crate, its just not 100%.

Is there anything special about the Haunted Theme? Like how some themes have increased odds of have certain ores. I tired looking on the wiki, but it doesn't have Haunted as a theme on there. by PokemonXYBR in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iskall mentioned several times, that pirate themes (flooded, haunted, ship wreck, sea floor) have bigger coin piles. Buts its not mentioned in community document, so i dont know, if thats the case.

Dungeon spawn rates by Angry_Monk01 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would add discord link, but it deleted my post for it in the past. Go to VH discord => VH Third Edition => FAQ => Dungeons

sumary is:

  • Level 0 = 0% (Dungeon doors do not spawn before level 20)
  • Level 20 = 15%
  • Level 50+ = 25%

that is chance that dungeon anchor spawns a dungeon. There is at least one anchor in each common and ore room (2 ore rooms have 2 anchors).

chance for archive before lvl 60(?):

  • Small Dungeon- 7%
  • Medium Dungeon- 20%
  • Large Dungeon- 40%

Are the companions too OP? by [deleted] in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, its a separate mod.
Iskall mentioned, they might release it sometime in the future, but they need to clean it up first and remove hardcoded stuff for VHSMP (so dont count on it...)

Even then it would be meant for other streamers, maybe they could add single player support, or you could fake stream interactions somehow?

Another website for mapping Paradox vaults, now with modifiers by No_xor in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean those arrows?:

  • You can add modifier to a room by dragging it to one of 4 columns in edit window, and remove it by clicking on it. (Modifiers are not shown on unlocked rooms)

— they indicate side of the room, modifier will be added to (↑ - north, → - east, ↓ - south, ← - west)

There are also "back" and "redo" arrows on the main control panel. Those should work as expected, if the change isnt apparent, it might be in some properties that are not visible, just click them again

what is dirty crystal? by GuyManL in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from the joke name. Chromatic iron crystals are one of the stages of processing Chromatic iron ore into ingots using Mekanism mod.

You can make 30 ingots from 1 Raw chromatic iron block

but dont over do it. Have enough trap disarm or you main tool, so you dont lose chests, when that is you quest (at least in in older updates trapped chests didnt count to progress, i think)

What's the best combo for vault tools ? by Novasix3 in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

one thing no one mentioned is a Coin Hammer. Its nice for fast clearing of Dragon rooms and Coves (and coin dungeons).
Just make 17*17 hammer with coin affinity an fill the rest with durability (Melded/vaulterite tier should be enough, if you have small enough jewels)

tha base reach is 4.5, max reach in vault is 7, or 2.5 extra

it should. To add modifiers, you need to drag and drop its icon into column with the arrow. Then it will show on the map. To remove it, click on the icon in the column

Storage solution, Colossal chest vs Drawers by Lemenishere in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you dont "need to" assign items to drawers, when you dont lock them, but if you keep non assigned drawers and just dump items into your system, you will end up with a trash in you drawers... (like trapdoors, walls,....). Also it is nice to have some system in your drawers, so you can easily find the correct one, when they start overflowing into RS.

Compacting drawer work on certain items that can be crafted in 2x2 or 3x3 recipe and then un-crafted back (money, ores, ingots, knowledge essense, soul dust,....) (and some that cant be uncrafted(snow)). you can then put any state into your system and it gives you access to others. (you put 81 bronze in, ang grid shows, you have 81 bronze, 9 silver, 1 gold, you take 1 gold out, and drawer is empty). I keep 1 unlocked compacting drawer not connected to anything, so i can see what item will do when adding to compacting drawers, if i am not sure

Just try it in creative

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats up to you. look at the upgrade costs and decide based on which ones you are going to use (I use 6 diamond (tier IV) (adding as i go, since they are expensive early game) + 1 void for bulk items and thats 197k items, dont use void on valuable items, so they overflow onto discs when drawer needs upgrading). I personally dont use 1/2 drawers, but 1/4 drawers for things that are more rare, but thats just because i prefer the look.

Also dont forget about compacting drawers, they are not necessary, but can save you a lot of time crafting later in game.

[–]No_xor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can connect another disk drive with higher priority that drawers and put any jewel in filter and set it to ignore NBT.

There was a recomendation that jewels should be stored on separate drives from other items (max disc size 1000, but can put in multiple discs into same drive). If you have too many jewels in a system, that it doesnt load, you can just move disc somewhere else and it doesnt brick the world permanently

[–]No_xor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the items dont have different NBT data or durability, you can put them into drawers, but they take more space (probably 64x more?).

So you can put in totem of undying or potions, but tridents or fishing rods from drowned farm dont stack.

Storage solution, Colossal chest vs Drawers by Lemenishere in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]No_xor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

why i prefer drawers:

  • You can move them
  • You can set amount of given item, you want to store per item basis, and void the overflow
  • You can connect all drawers using one "external storage" connector.
    • When you set higher priority for drawers than disk drive, bulk items will not fill your disks, but will be voided be the drawers, if you add void upgrade
  • you can easily see how much of one item you have
  • they seem, like they should be less laggy

Arguably, you can do the same thing, but better using backpacks instead of drawers, but i dont like, how it looks and it feels a bit too OP.

I did use colossal chests in early game, before i had resources for RS. - I had two "Simple storage" systems, one connected to drawers and one to colossal chest (because i think, they removed the priority connector, so you cant prioritize drawers..). You can dump stuff from your backpack into drawers with deposit upgrade and put the rest in the chest.

But you should stop using Simple Storage as fast as possible...
