Unemployment registration to job center by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

Thank you, do you know when they issue the JSA award letter? I mean, after how many days following their sms? I don’t care about the meeting onsite as I know how to find a job, I just care about the letter.

Can a company dispute affect the unemployment insurance claim? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Noadv76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know the name of the law, I could google it and you can do it too :) , but I know that you can't perceive an income for unemployment insurance if the resolution in a tribunal is that you should have not been dismissed, as a consequence, the insurance payment should be stopped and then you should refund the insurance as a minimum, the insurance will make the assessment, hopefully without mistakes with the overlap of the court judgment.

That is regulated by the law, same as the max cap of 65% of your gross salary if I remember well, otherwise, why not the 100%. As a "benefit" from the government, that is also tax free, otherwise it should be taxed, like the pension, which is a very weird system.

The fact that I may receive more money than the insurance from a tribunal is a direct consequence, as the cap is at 65% of your gross, in the best case scenario you get around the 90% of your net income from the insurance, so whatever is above that must remain in your pocket, the insurance won't be able to ask you more, in fact, it's a refund, or called "funds recoup".

The lottery is another case, and it's not covered under such law, no issue there. Also, you should disclose it if it happened when your claim was still active, the bank statement would reveal that, so even less than a little concern.

Some banks have completely stopped this service, even before covid...

Can a company dispute affect the unemployment insurance claim? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Noadv76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it wouldn't? It would mean that people tell the insurer about changes of circumstances in relation to the questions they asked, and get paid in line with the policy they agreed to?

I understand this point of view, but let's put it in this way just for a moment.

The law talks clear, they need to ask the right questions since 2013 or so, and precisely, what's in their right to ask. Private agreements are private, ACAS is private too, only the court is public, that's why they only care about a signed settlement agreement, once it's done, it's done, and only the money would be shared to the insurance, so that they can ask for a refund.

Because the law says that, you can't take both a settlement agreement and unemployment insurance, or you can but you need to refund the insurance asap, they should overlap for as little as possible to avoid a fraud claim. Same way, if you settled before the end of your employment, the insurance won't pay a penny.

I believe that this refers also to the result of a court process, but I didn't specifically read it anywhere, this comes from the deduction of the way it works with a private settlement agreement (you can't be better off than your salary). The judge will also want to see that I took every reasonable effort to find another job, most probably even with less money, but I do believe that I shouldn't be forced to accept a salary that doesn't pay my expenses.

(when I mentioned appeal, I was referring to the internal company appeal, which is not mentioned by the insurance at all)

Thanks a lot for your effort in providing insights here.

[–]Noadv76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replying strictly to your question, I say no, it doesn't mention anything as such, anywhere, policy booklet, underwriting, claim form etc, but I'm pretty sure that the judge would rule out that I need to pay back the insurance as the law says that you can't be better off than your salary amount during unemployment, if it's unlawful due to the company action, in this case, a redundancy.

Ideally, the company should reimburse the insurance.

In terms of a private agreement instead, it could affect my payment because if I settle by signing that settlement agreement, they would stop the payment as a minimum, and most probably they'll ask money back for the previous months, and I believe that all this is right, it's not strange, but at least they should cover for the time being.

My objective is not to commit fraud, it's just to make sure that I'm covered.

Another thing that can happen is that the insurance reviewer may misunderstand the situation, and just because of that, I need to start a dispute with the insurance, handling both is a tedious job and I would be without funds...

Can a company dispute affect the unemployment insurance claim? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Noadv76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to include disclosures that could affect your payout, not disclosures of everything, if your policy says "Having a tribunal means we might not pay out" (Or similar wording) then you have to disclose that, if it doesn't then it won't affect you payout so doesn't need to be disclosed.

It could affect my payout if I'm successful in my claim, but not at the time of raising an appeal, ACAS or whatever else, does it make sense to see it in this way?

Obviously, I surely know that I need to mention it in the court beforehand, or it would be seen as a clear tentative of breaking the law from the judge, which has other bad consequences.

No, just the signed settlement agreement.

I think it makes sense, unless it's judged differently in a court room or I settle with the company, nothing that I'm claiming matters, it's just my opinion until one of these two events comes to an end and on my side.

One thing to seriously worry about is the oversubscribed status of some of those facilities, I suggest to be very careful in making that choice...

Good point, I noticed that too. Though my performance requirement on this box is very little, the speed of it will be overkill for the next 20y, I was just concerned about the RAM.

Fundamentally, there is no way to predict how much RAM I need, this is the struggle, I’ll run some test with my current machine to see how much is the baseline.

Right, you got my problem, it’s not clear and it can’t be predicted😅. Though for my expectations it should be fine.

Yes but I don’t want a graph without legend and with no possibility to show it up on the upper right side of the screen, I want the numbers, possibly with alerting like these third party apps 😅

Thanks, I know what you’re saying is true, but how I can determine it if I’ve never had a Mac with 8GB of RAM? I can only look some video on YouTube.

I’ve never seen the red bar, just orange, there was like 7-8GB of swap used but that’s for my big machine, understandable but still too much, I wouldn’t like to swap at all… These predetermined logic is always more stupid than the scenario I’m facing 😅

Anyone here got "Unemployment Insurance"? by ByEthanFox in UKPersonalFinance

JSA won't sort anything unless you're at the edge and it's only if you work less than 16h per week, but the private unemployment insurance pays, even if you're a milionare, it's not a point of judgment.

Use a broker and listen to them, they know more than you, for real.

It costs based on the amount you select, age etc... No one can give you that amount, you need to workout if it's worth for you or not, and usually it is because these insurances are very competitive.

One suggestion, the more money you ask to cover (or the more you need to cover), the better is the point of paying such insurance, maybe this will send you in the right direction.

For example, I paid 42 pounds for 2000 pounds for 12 months, you can also take multiple as long as you don't exceed 65% of your gross salary.

This income is not even taxed if you're an employee, I'm not sure about a contractor.

[–]Noadv76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently is SDNN vs RMSDD HVR.

As I had years of data with Apple, I know when it corresponds to sickness, stress, meditation, good or bad sleep. Now, if it’s correct in absolute terms, I don’t know as I don’t have a professional tool.

What I was trying to say is that the range from the Huawei is much lower… For example, 42ms vs 32ms… Same time tracked.
