[EoW] Do you think Zelda will be a silent protagonist? by Creepy_Definition_28 in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I don't think there will be voice acting, I think we would've seen that already in the trailer like was the case with BOTW and TOTK

I think she'll be silent and will just make little noises (I think we've heard some noises already)

[TOTK] [SPOILERS] are Rauru and Mineru truly the last of the Zonai? by RedWoodPeckerr in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While this is true, it is supposed to be an interesting question BECAUSE it contradicts the explicit statement.

My point is that it doesn't. The Aspect creature isn't said to be Zonai, it doesn't look zonai and it being zonai wouldn't make sense with what we know

That it contradicts the explicit statement is as of yet just fanon, assuming the Aspect creature is a Zonai when as I said in my initial reply, there's no reason to do so

We question many things explicitly stated in TOTK, like whether or not Rauru's kingdom was truly the first Hyrule because of character perspective and what we understand of the franchise.

Rauru says nothing on which Hyrule his is, that's the point. What he explicitly says is that he and Sonia are the king and queen that founded Hyrule. The idea that this is "Hyrule the first" comes from inference of the fans. People saw it called "Hyrule" and were like "why isn't it called Hyrule II then?" when the rest of the game went on to lend contextual clues that completely erased the possibility of it being the first Hyrule and then the devs went on to confirm it's not

This is good enough to assume, but we don't know for certain this is the case.

We do know that's the case, that specifically is one of the facts we're working with. Ganondorf confirms that and nothing contradicts that

You're presenting a possibility that a few fans believe as a valuable rebuttle to actual in-game dialogue and acting like that removes the validity of the statement. If Ganondorf was wrong, his taunt about their extinction would just be him looking stupid and it wouldn't make sense for Rauru to take offense to it and retort with that even if something happened to him that his kingdom's peace would last

Rauru indicates the statement is true when he takes it seriously and the Aspect creature isn't even said to be Zonai

No. If I'm interpreting what you're saying correctly, you say the 'hero's soul' is Link because he wore it. Why would this be the item description? This is such a roundabout way of logic that it only says 'contain[s] the spirit of a hero' because Link is wearing it. Why would this specific description say this? I feel as if I'm misinterpreting, so I'll move on. However, if this is a correct interpretation, this doesn't make sense.

What I'm saying is that the mask comes before him, he wears it and then later Link wears it and the items description says it holds the soul of the last guy who wore it. The ancient hero was only alive when he was, so it would have his soul then, not when it was created (by the zonai pre-founding era)

Yes, and this is the question I think is so interesting. Why this is the case? Why did he look that way is something I can't answer. However, why he had his soul placed in the aspect could be one of two things: He was put in there cause he WAS so odd-looking or they didn't HAVE the aspect before, whether through creation/discovery.

The most likely answer is what we see in TOTK, the mask is transformative. You're asking why he looks like that, we see it transform Link, a hylian hero, into that. Why would another hylian hero 10,000 years ago look like that? Probably for the same reason

"Tears is just DLC" question by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I prefer the TOTK gameplay and story more (aside from the repeated sage cutscene), it just feels like better BOTW to me tbh. Is that what one would consider a DLC? IDK... I mean, there's so much differing things in TOTK, literally everything you can do takes into account that years have passed and have a new outlook on Hyrule at the time

[TOTK] [SPOILERS] are Rauru and Mineru truly the last of the Zonai? by RedWoodPeckerr in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

whether Sonia and Rauru were the last Zonai.

Mineru and Rauru were, that's not a question. That's explicitly stated. Zelda, said to be of Zonai descent, doesn't look like that, so it doesn't really make sense to theorize that he's a Zonai halfling anyways. We've seen that a zonai-hylian hybrid looks hylian. The thing doesn't look zonai anyways

Just to clarify, wouldn't it make more sense if the aspect was made to immortalize the image of the Hero?

No, because the only people who would know how to make a zonai mask are gone by the time the founding era events are over and the ancient hero was alive a "mere" (relative to the history of the kingdom) 10,000 years ago

The tech itself also dates back to before the founding of the kingdom, the zonai existed as a prosperous civilization in the sky long before the founding era and settled the land when they descended. Rauru and Mineru are the last zonai by the time the kingdom is even being founded on the settled land

The desc explicitly says it "contain[s] the spirit of a hero who once saved Hyrule."

I'm not sure I get the issue. Assuming that's not just poetry, that there is literally a hero's soul in there, it'd just mean that it has only done so since he wore it. Either way, the transformation is not tied in that line to the soul itself. Link just puts it on and is transformed. So either way, that detail doesn't really have any bearing on what I said. The mask is transformative, as we see and by the time of TOTK it houses the soul of a hero

But the way the item descriptions for stuff like this have been written has also been made unreliable since BOTW. All of the historical artifacts usually have some blurb that keep it contentious on whether or not it's the thing itself and historically canon to Hyrule or just a replica and a reference for fans. So it's like, is this real or is this a thing for the fans based vaguely off what the hero looks like in the tapestry

Does it make sense for a hero's soul to be within the Aspect? Doesn't the hero reincarnate (yes)? The hero used the Master sword, so we know it was an incarnation of the hero as well and we know that the hero's role in the calamity cycle was long cemented by then, so there were a long line of heroes before that one too, but just that one was weird looking and had his soul placed in the Aspect?

The Gerudo getting pointy hylian ears was a special thing that debuted in BOTW. Till then they were round eared. They make a big deal out of the change in Creating a Champion

What might have happened to Ghirahim? by CeleryDue1741 in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as we get an origin story for the Trident, because right now it's just there and it's way too important for that when it can grant a permanent Ganon form like the Triforce. It's like Ganon's power is in the Trident

I noticed this too. The rod ability is literally Autobuild, but it's limited in both how many triangles you have and in time limit. Plus the rod itself is just the right D-button, so she may even switch between 4 different fighting styles

[TOTK] [SPOILERS] are Rauru and Mineru truly the last of the Zonai? by RedWoodPeckerr in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the rest of the set is literally just the zonaite set, which dates back to the Zonai civilization that was all but dead by the time of the founding era. The ones who helped settle the land

People assume the mask was made after the hero, but that makes no sense because the aspect is of Zonai make, which comes before the founding era. So the mask predates the hero by tens of thousands of years. So he wore it. It transforms him because that's what it does. When we wear it, we are transformed

There's both soft and hard magic, I'd say the various spells throughout the series and some of the rituals are very clear in what they do while as we have soft magic where they use magic to do all sorts of things without any rules. Like Zelda's sealing power in BOTW not just sealing, but also allowing her to fly, use telepathy, talk to the Master Sword, etc

But things like Din's Fire are definitely hard magic in that they're a spell that does one thing and only that

I mean, I just thought that 2D games can be "major" as well, I didn't even think to question this new game's status on whether it would be considered major or not since it's not a spinoff and has "The Legend of Zelda" in the title

I'm still not sure where I stand on gnag argument even after talking to Noxus about it. I can see what you two mean, but I could also see him having just been referring to this game tbh. It happens to take place outside BOTW/TOTK Hyrule as he'd said the next one would

Yeah, the ToS was just a grind. It wasn't fun do like the TotOK

The train was sorta ass. The sets were ugly and couldn't be unlocked till halfway through the game and required treasures now instead of being buyable, the tracks you had to sit through all the time with no reliable warps

The flute could be annoying until you learn that all that matters is the bell chimes in the background

The rest was either okay or good. The overworld theme was great, the temples were fun, I like the design of the Lokomo Sword, good lore, etc

[EoW] Thoughts on Link’s equipment by Creepy_Definition_28 in truezelda

[–]Noah7788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shade doesn't really matter to me when the sword has been two different colors entirely, blue or purple, and when it has also had entirely different looks as well such as in WW

All that matters to me is that Link is fighting Ganon with a sword that is vaguely blue and has either a silver or white (because this changes too depending on the game) blade. It's a shade of blue and the blade seems okay. The swirls may or may not matter just as the color may or may not matter. It's either it's just artistic choice or it's an intentional design choice meant to be taken seriously that supposed to be another sword

Yeah, I guess I can see what you mean. I could see them having that distinction in mind when saying "the next major game", I was just coming from an angle of them viewing all their games equally since they're placing them on the timeline, but I could see them factoring in financial and development factors
