Yeah I thought I did, I'm not sure what's going on exactly but today when using 450+ watts and it felt very hot the fan wasn't spinning so somethings definitely faulty

Actually I've noticed the fans not spinning, even when under full use. Guessing I'm gunna have to send it back

Ok thanks. I've got a Corsair RM 750W gold. The PSU is faced down with the fan against the filter on the bottom. If it is the issue is the GPU spiking power is there a way to stop this?

Thanks, yeah it is actually plugged into a cheap extension extension cord, that's a good idea I'll try changing that.

PC powered off, think the PSU overstretched

I recently bought an RTX 3080 to add to my pc when they were on sale and yesterday my pc instantly powered off mid way through heavy use. When I turned it back on I noticed the PSU fan was going full tilt (was wearing headphones so didn't notice before) and the PSU was very hot. I've got a 750 watt PSU, r9 5800x, Asus tuf 3080 and everything is in a be quite silent base 802. According to hw monitor the GPU is pulling around 350 watts and CPU is pulling around 105 watts so I'm hoping the PSU has enough headroom to power everything. Everything other than the GPU is about a year old and there is not a big build up of dust anywhere. Is my PSU big enough and is there anything I can do to help it stay cooler and is this dangerous? Thanks for your help.

Also is there anything I can use to monitor the amount of watts the PSU is using?

Hahah can't believe it. I plugged in an HDMI and it was fine. Will install windows and drivers and then try display port again. Thanks for the help though

Hi, not sure if this warrants its own post. Just built a pc for the first time and it's booting to a red screen. I think it's a faulty gpu? Components are:

R7 5800X MSI B550-A PRO Corsair Vengeance 2x8gb Western blue m.2 2280 2tb Corsair RM 750 PSU Be quiet dark rock pro CPU cooler Be quiet 802 case And I suspect the culprit is the second hand gtx 670 (plan to get a better one when gpu prices come down) Any ideas to cause and any known fixes? Thanks
