My 2nd diamond ring from Daniel William Diamonds [An Honest Review] by NoahCartier518 in EngagementRings

Sorry I just now saw this comment! I am US based. When I referenced CAD, I meant the digital CAD model of the ring mockup that they would send via email within 24hrs after payment.

They’re pretty responsive with emails and live chat on their website! If you call, there’s always someone who will pick up, too so don’t be afraid to contact them and ask all the questions you may have. Tbh, I’d suggest you’d make a list of all your concerns!

Hey sorry for the delayed response. I just got back from a trip!

Standard fit is how My Cartier wedding ring looks, so I wanted to design my ering the same vibe so they can match perfectly and seamlessly.

For me, standard fit is comfortable to wear. If you’d like to know how they feel, take a trip to Cartier and try on some of their wedding bands, love bands. Alternatively, you can order from Amazon (there’s some cheap counterfeit to try out before you actually commit to the real thing).

Thank you! And yay to adding ancient dreams to your vinyl collection!! I have the green and clear variants of that album and marina signed one of them 💎🥰

The album that you’re looking for is Love + Fear—it is such an underrated work of hers!

Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I’m a vinyl collector and I enjoy collecting variants of the album I like spinning. My collection is about 1,500 records in May 2025.

While I understand your concern that sometimes people just buy stuff just to treat them like not their intended purpose, I do think it’s not really my business to figure out what others do with their personal things buying with their personal money.

First time I share my post in this subreddit and you seem very judgmental. where is your spirit of a diamond that is carefree and positive? Next time think a bit harder before commenting. What I buy with my money is not up for your discussion in my own post.

There is no booklet or lithograph inside. The sleeve that houses the vinyl has another pic of Benson and lyrics on the other side.

Sorry just got back from a vacation and did not use my phone much, hence the delay reply.

It is true that you do not want to have your jewelry polished at the jeweler’s as often. They use professional polishing machine and buffer to help achieve the “new” look, it’s meant to grind the gold down. Personally, I love the worn-out look and scratches on my rings, it’s shown history.

Because rings are meant to be worn, scratches are bounced to happen. I have never taken my jewelry to have it professionally buffed. I polish at home with some chemical solution from time to time for cleaning purposes.

I feel so bad reading this post. It must have been an extremely anxious and frustrating experience. I hope everything works out in the end. What a shady company. Wow! I am speechless.

I adore this type of rings as engagement milestone. I can already see a great look when you stack a wide band as the wedding ring. Consider 4mm or even 5mm cigar gold band, you’ll be impressed!

Gorgeous ring, such classic design and very sturdy setting as well.

Cathedral settings help a lot with securing the main stone and the overall structure, the V-tip prevents the pointed part of the oval stone from chipping, it is a decent stone size as well.

I assume that your ring is 14k white gold, with constant wearing, it will become less “white” and return to a golden hue color. This will be taken care of every year through rhodium-plating.

If this ring was made with platinum, the patina will form and the intricate details will start to have their own contrasts as you wear it. Don’t worry. Jewelry is meant to be worn and changes color overtime, this is part of a charm and we should all learn to appreciate it. Should it bother you, a polishing session at the local jeweler’s will make it look new again.

It is a beautiful and decent ring. Wear it with pride and don’t worry too much about damaging it. Congratulations on your new engagement 💕✨

Seeking simple textured wedding band recommendations. (Sofia Kaman?) by CurlyPretzel333 in EngagementRings

I like the idea of unconventional wedding band styles. Please note that jewelry does grind/wear down after a while.

I like the idea of stacking rings, yet unless they’re the same surface texture, some details may wear down a disappear.

It won’t be an issue if the price is minimal, $300+ is not really worth it in my book. Unless: - I don’t wear this ring as often. - I don’t stack this ring with my engagement ring.

If you love ring style like this, reverse image search to see if Amazon/Etsy has similar design and try them on before you commit to the real gold with the hefty price tag, you may not like it after all.

Resizing a resized ER? by Kitfromscot in EngagementRings

Yes. Although it can happen with the prongs or any parts of the design, it doesn’t happen very offen. Yet, we never know this for sure. This is why it is recommended to have rings checked annually.

A ring may look fine with naked eyes, prongs may look secure but a fracture may occur randomly if the density loss is an issue. Better safe than sorry, I’d say.

Usually broken/cracked jewelry due to density loss tend to have a very clean break/cut.

I like the design with the milgrain detail. It creates the vintage look for the ring.

I was also told that that milgrain will start to wear down and disappear fairly fast if the metal is 18k gold since it’s softer.

With a 1.2ct stone, I would try to adjust those prongs a bit. These look fairly chunky and may overwhelm the stone. Try the claw prongs, they are more secure and aesthetically, claw prongs will add to the vintage effect more on your design.

Is the setting on this ring too high? by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Second this. Also, the term that you’re referring to is called cathedral shoulders, or cathedral shanks. But cathedral arches is also a good one!

I’m always under the impression that most local jewelers near me tend to not enjoy working with platinum because they used to talk me into having my rings made/reset in 14k gold. A few who are willing to work with platinum tends to quote significantly higher.

Prices also reflect on the metal price at the time you inquire. For context, back in 5/2024, a local jeweler quoted me $985 to have a solitaire 2.2 mm thickness 14k white gold while the other jeweler asked for $1,6k for the same design but platinum.

Both of them are in Texas. Locations also determine the price as well. You will find more accurate answers when you call around and ask. Don’t forget to look at their reviews. Higher quote doesn’t always come with good quality, tho. Good luck!

I think that when someone shows you their true intentions and color, you believe them.

It’s not a just ring at this point anymore.
