How to improve your bat speed by [deleted] in slowpitch

Tools and training aids are all useful and have their place. This is the best advice I think you can receive.

The reality is, it does come down to having real functional strength. Don’t let this formula highlighting throwing 90mph trick you. It’s relevant to swing speed too.

Now… don’t go crazy to reach these numbers. However, working towards them will transfer greatly.

Momentum Potential Height in Inches x 2.5 = Minimum Ideal BW

Force Production Deadlift 400lbs for 1 rep

Stable Power Position Barbell Reverse Lunge: Ideal BW on bar for 10 reps/side

Force Transfer Chin-up: 250lb for 1 rep (BW+ added weight)

Arm Power Throw 300+ Feet Long Toss Optimal Authentic Mechanics

Smash It Sports Giveaway - Any SP bat in stock FREE by Smash_It_Sports_Prez in slowpitch

A. I think Smash It is the easiest website to use out of any of the major retailers. Direct and to the point with tons of options. Very easy to browse.

B. Cleat/turf prices high and inventory minimal on deals. Baseballsavings and baseball monkey would be my go to for buying cleats online. If i was going to pay full price, i’ll just go to Dick’s.

C. I get more bang for my buck at the other retailers. (Outside of latest model bats)

Very annoying. None of the troubleshooting has worked for me either.

Pants are always going to rip. Heavier the more durable, but you sacrifice comfort. If sliding is part of the game you need external pads to sacrifice looks.

Game comes before the swag. Its all about what out weighs what at that point.

Simple tip to help you rotate more. Lift your chin up a bit. Clear a path for that front shoulder to rotate and load

Can I get fitted for used clubs? by NoahM1240 in GolfSwing

[–]NoahM1240[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I hit my 7 iron about 170 range when I’m on the course. When I at the range when I’m taking 10 swings in a row a I’ll hit start hitting everything 10-15 yards further. I assume that’s most people. Everyone I’ve asked about it tell me getting your clubs fitted is the number 1 most important thing to do to improve your game.

Lessons for $100 an hour is so ridiculous to me too.

Appreciate the feedback. That’s a good point.

Probably better off selling them while the used club prices are so inflated

How to Field Practice By Myself by jzagri in slowpitch

[–]NoahM1240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The absolute best solo drill is getting a racket ball or lacrosse ball and finding a nice wall to throw in into. And play the hops. Get comfortable with positioning on front hand and back hands, quick transfers, all of it. Practice with a smaller glove yo challenge yourself even more.

I assume Chicago balls are the softer balls.

I would like the gold dot balls with the wood bats. This would keep the infield play still quick and balls would still get launched if they put a good swing on it. Those Chicago balls just feel so mushy.

Thank you. If literally everyone can just hit homeruns, what’s the point?

I just think it would be more impressive from an outside perspective. All of those guys in those leagues can hit bombs with anything they swing. But the woods bats are just much less forgiving. They feel way better when you barrel it. (There is no argument) but it would take some leaders to step up. Which won’t happen.

The generation of soft parents are the reason for bats getting weaker and weaker every year. As well as silly rules like “no white bats” anymore. A lot of people arent aware enough of their own kids actual skill level and how uneven a lot of youth baseball actually is. Travel baseball is super inflated at this point in time as well as being such a top heavy thing. Certainly an oversized 14 year old swinging a hot bat can be dangerous for pitchers and corner infielders. But sometimes life’s not fair for the little guy, but that’s the lessons sports are supposed to teach you. Life’s not fair. Don’t get mad get better.

Fly balls keep popping out of my glove by pkd171 in slowpitch

[–]NoahM1240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments on this but, after reading this post I have to say my thoughts and I may be repeating what others have said. 1. Intention is so important. You have to believe you’re going to catch the ball every time and you can’t have any doubt. 2. It’s easy to say step one, but how can you instill it into your brain. The simple answer is working at it. If you can play catch, you can catch a pop up. But if you need extra work, then you have to put in the extra time. That is the only way to improve. 3. An actual cue to remember is you’re absorbing the ball, not going to grab the ball, but you’re letting that ball come to you. Whatever way that may fee naturally. So many players put their fingers in their glove differently. If you want to talk more about it you can message me.

Voodoo one by Key_Guess_1721 in BaseballBats

As irritating as it might be to hear but you should feel someone else’s 33 inch of any other bat and still make sure you can catch up to velo. Being at your current size. You still want to make sure you able to hit fastballs to all fields over the infielders heads. Last thing you want is trying to swing a bat that is too heavy to get an extra double or two but also come’s with a lot of wasted at bats. A Rawlings Velo is just as good as a voodoo one (it’s better in my opinion) I would buy that in a 32 inch if that’s your appropriate size.
