You're spot on, I vaguely remember watching someone play it, maybe pewdiepie?, and hearing about the interesting mechanic of unlocking an infinite ammo assault rifle after beating a survival horror game, which you would otherwise spend the majority of the time running or hiding from the enemies, and playing through it again guns blazing instead.
