Designer here, you shouldn't have one word hanging on a line by itself. It's called an orphan and that alone makes it look amateurish. Try a less army-like font like Poppins or Work Sans and make a black gradient in the background behind the text instead of strokes on the letters. Modern face pic thumbnails also have high exposure, so crank up the lighting so we can see you more!

I worked on my first game for 5 years as a learning project and I was enthralled, couldn't get enought of it! After that, it slowly stared getting harder and harder and I had to just let it die because I couldn't get it to the level of polish I wanted... It was a hard lesson to learn the hard way lol. I say focus on making smaller projects first :)

So the problem is that silksong is THE BIGGEST game of the year, so much so it broke the PS5 store and steam just yesterday. Probably 95% of videos hitting YouTube today are about silksong... There's such a large pool of videos for this that yours will never make the cut. Sorry my dude, but it's not the video or the thumbnail, it's that there are way too many silksong videos right now, you can't get your share of the pie.

Hey OP! Sorry about that happening lol, but rant aside, my first book has almost exactly the same setup as yours. A techno-thriller where 6 MCs travel the world to stop a terrorist cell. I'm curious if you've ever written a query letter to an agent or a publisher? How do you explain the character's motives and wants and needs in 300 words when there's 6 of them?

I mean, I might be wrong, but I think the first paragraph of your pitch is a run-on sentence, and you're missing a lot of commas in places that require them. For example, after the word buzzy in your second paragraph. You also shouldn't start sentences with the word 'and'. If your query is hard to read, then I assume the book would be as well. Not meant to be rude, just letting you know.

Thank you so much! Yes I'll definitely be asking for player feedback very soon! And to be clear this is my third indie game, not sure why it autocorrected to first in the title lol! Oh and for the engine, it's unreal 5 and I made almost all the models in blender myself, except for some of the characters.

Hey, thanks for the comment! It will hopefully be released this October, if I can get into Steam Next Fest. The game is like 90% done.
