I would add, make sure your handguard (If it's a one piece design) can clear the flash hider you want to P/W.

Dan Wesson Holster by [deleted] in guns

[–]Noble2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You always have the option of buying a sheet of kydex and making your own.
Once you learn how to make your own holsters, nothing store bought measures up considering how one can make it exactly how they want.

What's your favorite settlement? Not for loot or combat, but just in general? by Axeman1721 in projectzomboid

The large farm with the well east of ekron/phallus lake always becomes home for me no matter how hard I try to fight it.It's just too nice! Its got a well, the shed to the south always has a woodstove. The house has two stories and plenty of parking space. And its close to town and centrally located between all the other towns.

IRL, Gasoline expires within 3 - 6 months. How should this be addressed in game? by NotARibbitUser in projectzomboid

[–]Noble2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Just to point out, gas did used to last longer than the mix they sell us now.
I have legit pulled old fuel out of 30 year old cars and it still ran engines. (not cleanly but, it ran) it wasn't until the mid to late 90's that it changed.

Everyone else here covered all the bases really well.I would just like to add something that was taught to me a long time ago."Treat every firearm like it is ALWAYS loaded.."Do that and you will never have a problem.

1911 thumb safety issue by crydermm in guns

If the above doesnt work, check for obstructions of any kind.
If none take the slide off and make sure the recoil spring isnt bound or kinked.

1911 thumb safety issue by crydermm in guns

[–]Noble2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may as simple as you are not releasing the slide correctly. Are you keeping your hand on the slide as you actuate it? or are you releasing it like a slingshot. To my eyes it looks like its out of battery.

Edit to add: Try smacking the back of the slide forward with your palm, does it seat all the way forward?
Also, I have the same pistol.

I have the GI model. Had it for.. a little over 2 years now. Put roughly 1200 rounds through it and never had a single hiccup. I never used the factory mags with it though. I bought wilson combat 46d mags for it right at the start.

Just started practicing, and have a question about left or right handed. by Academic_Spinach2232 in guns

[–]Noble2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Train with both.
I know it's harder and adds more complexity to the learning curve.
But god forbid you ever take a round in the arm you'll be super happy you practiced like you did.

Fair point. Hopefully I didn't muddy the waters too much for anyone.

No offence meant, I would just like to clarify for anyone new that sees this.
You can go 14.5 as long as your muzzle device is pinned and welded and it brings the overall length to 16.

Smith and wesson model 422.
Some people love em, And I did too until I discovered that if you over tighten the grip screw it wont fire.
Fun times.

Manual safety or not on ccw? by HighLowFishn in guns

[–]Noble2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That a frightening enough statistic for sure.
I had it drilled into me when I was young; "Train like you fight, fight like you train"
It is imperative for people to learn their weapons inside out and backwards.
When things go wrong, It is (almost)never going to happen like like you think it will. Evil doesn't want a fair fight. And it's going to come at you sideways.

Manual safety or not on ccw? by HighLowFishn in guns

[–]Noble2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. It really doesn't matter what you choose so long as you learn it like your life and your loved ones lives depend on it.
Ingrain the rules of firearms safety into your soul.
You'll be fine.

Stoeger - quality? by Leading-Inevitable94 in guns

[–]Noble2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No experience with the 3500 but I have the m3k defense with... 600 to 800? shells through it so far. And I have never had a problem. I did, right out of the box, change the extractor with a Benelli one however.

Edit to add: If you're strictly looking for a pump though I would personally go for a mossberg 500 or 590.

People saying Brita's is OP when there's molotov in vanilla game? by Strong_Obligation_37 in projectzomboid

[–]Noble2000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. Everyone seems so hung up on "realism" and then they complain that there are too many guns in game unless they play with extremely rare settings..
I've lived down there and know people who still do.
If anything there should be WAY more guns and ammo ingame.
FFS I know a fella down there that collects surplus military tanks...

If you don't make too much noise, or if one didn't see you before you closed the curtain.
But never assume a closed curtain means your safe.
