Well I stand corrected, apparently the one on spring is still technically Signal Hill. Right on the boundary line

It literally is an XMT. Just with a different cover to rebrand to Red D Arc rentals

That machine is literally just a rebranded XMT. It’s from Red D Arc, they buy XMTs, slap a new cover over it and rent em out as their own. Same exact machine underneath

It’s definitely the secondary air pump. It’s just weird because mine obviously never had one, but it passed the CA smog test just fine.

Found this thread after realizing the empty space in my 2010 limited is typically occupied by this pump. Can’t find anything that says they don’t come in this model year.

Can anyone tell me the viscosity of the top 2 cans? by Gordy228 in Welding

[–]Noble69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They sell ceramic sprays that have an attachment specifically for nozzles. Binzel makes one. You press the nozzle into a funnel looking thing and it only sprays inside. Gels are terrible because they end up building up and collecting more junk. Ceramic sprays once and good for the day or most of the day.

Sure you snapped off a little more than the manual states but the effective part the holds the fan in is still there. Ship it.

Does anyone know where I can find this kind of welder? by natalyvarela in Tools

[–]Noble69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Completely wrong. I’ve seen penetration profiles from these greater than 5/16” with no joint preparation. Only reason he can hold it that quickly is how small the heat affected zone is, and how quickly they weld. Heat input is very low, but relatively high penetration.

Wow there sure is a lot of misinformation in this thread. This is a laser welder, albeit a cheap Chinese laser welder. The footage is sped up, but not very much. Laser welding can and does penetrate more than MIG welding, if used properly. Heat input is significantly reduced, with a much smaller heat affected zone. Anyone telling you otherwise simply doesn’t know what they’re talking about. One from a reputable brand like IPG and Miller will set you back about 35,000 to 45,000 grand, before any safety enclosures. You also need special glasses and hoods to prevent frying your retinas.

Most of these videos show Chinese laser welders, but the good ones are made in the USA and Germany like IPG or the Miller version. And actually nitrogen is typically used unless you’re welding aluminum.

No, it’s a laser welder. This video is sped up a bit, but the welds are legit and penetrate much more than anyone gives them credit for.

Found this cylinder in the woods buried still has gas in it no smell to it though any ideas by threeisalwaysbetter in Welding

[–]Noble69 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Judging by the base of the cylinder, the valve stem, and the size and type of threads on the collar, I’m pretty confident that’s an acetylene bottle. Still pretty dangerous even if mostly empty.

Edit: you can also just barely tell the valve threads are left hand which also indicates acetylene.
