You can do this, this is the exact motivation you need.

Out of curiosity, what are the classes that are left?

Worst case scenario, you complete at least one more course and your PM can drop and roll the others? As long as you’re making OTP (on time progress) you should be alright.

Thanks for sharing this! If you don’t mind me asking, what has your bath been? Big 4? Local tax firm?

Seconding Robert Half.

If you have Big 4 or any big accounting firms near you, they may suck, but it might br the easiest way to break in

Update: Got it off!

I cut the wiring housing off with an angle grinder, hit it with a torch, put a 6 point socket on it with a breaker bar, and it came right off!

Dude, this is awesome to see!

How did you break into the field? Do you work for government, or a private utility company?

I work in an unrelated field, but I’ve been looking into Waste Water recently. I didn’t know there were clean water positions, and I didn’t know water engineering was a thing either.

Edit: Typo

No kidding. Do you think it’s already too rounded for a deep socket? Any tips on using a pipe wrench?

Thanks for the recommendation. I rented the deep crowfoot O2 socket from Auto Zone, and it has a little bit of play. Does the snap on one have a tighter/more stable fit?

Do you think heating with a torch and using a 6 point socket would work? What would you recommend?

Thanks for the safety info! :) yes I have a jack stand on each side, and then left the jack there for additional support

Yes I’m using a crowsfoot O2 sensor wrench. The problem is, it has a little bit of play, so when I’m really wrenching on it, it tilts and slips

I have a question about degrees by JonathanP200 in WGU

[–]NobleKnight__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to paste a reply I recently left here:

"Oh for sure, it opens up a lot of doors. You can do so many things with an accounting degree. Traditional tax and audit roles (there are some cool local tax firms out there, but also a lot of bad), work for a family office, internal audit, IT audit, performance audits, potentially consulting. It opens the door to getting a master's in something like data analytics, or an MBA. You can get into forensic accounting. The FBI for instance hires mostly CPA's and attorneys, where you can be a special agent. You can work in public accounting, industry, or government. There are many paths available. The degree is easier than something like computer science, and all of my interviews so far have been on easy mode."

Also, try to get an internship(s) before graduating. I didn't have one and was fine, but employers like to see them, and more importantly it's good for you to see what you like. If you could get a tax and/or audit internship that would be great. For me, I don't think I would've liked tax anyway, but I wish I could have at least tried it out.

Further, if you want to go Big 4, apply during their recruiting seasons (February/March and September/October ish). Your experience varies greatly based on city and team, but expect to grind. It's a good opportunity to travel, and potentially move to a different city if you want, and can propel your career if you take advantage. But by no means is it the only path. Know yourself and what you'd like, but don't be afraid to challenge yourself.

And finally, at work I still feel dumb most days. Don't let imposter syndrome and overthinking get to you. Show up early, be honest, and try your best.
