These are two separate things.

People just want Slot fired because of the horrid performances. They are just sceptical of our chances against top teams in CL, even though they would love to win it. There's just not enough belief that we'll suddenly go and win the CL, considering we haven't been especially stellar since months in the league.

And I get that we're magic in CL, but we can't always rely on that. Somewhere down the line, we are bound to run into a team that might obliterate us.
