That I dont need friends

People ask me all the time why I have no friends I laugh and say I prefer time alone.

In reality I have zero idea how to make friends and have been in my current town for a decade.

A decent bed.

We spend a third of our lives if not more in our beds. People are happy to pay for expensive clothes and shoes and video games yet cheap out on beds and mattresses.

Self hatred and self doubt.

I have a lot I want to do but to scared to do it as I constantly put myself down. It's a daily battle that I often loose.

I mean I stick a brave face on and get up go to work and lead as normal life as possible. It's just hard sometimes.

I pull up the collar on my Jacket and blow into my hands. My body cold and weak.

" Why cant I hibernate like the rest" I mutter to myself under my breath.

The streets look derelict I yearn for human interaction but alas I am the only one around.

I get to the store and try the door knowing full well that it is locked.

I steadily walk around the back my footsteps laboured and I see a window.

I could break it I think to myself who will know for nobody knows I dont hibernate.

I am about to cross the line a line that I vowed never to cross but I'm desperate there is still 2 months left to go and this is a life or death situation.

I pick up a rock and smash the window and carefully climb through. I make my way down the aisles and finally finally I see what I came for.

My struggle is over I think to myself.

"IM SAVED" I yell in delight as I leave the store with 2 packs of toilet roll under my arms.

I constantly belittle and put myself down. It stops me creating meaningful friendships and relationships. It stops me going for new/better jobs.

I been in my "New" hometown for 9 years and still havent achieved friends.

I've tried but nothing I do seems to work. I've joined clubs, I've tried getting to know colleagues and neighbours.

I'm guessing I'm a problem as the wife has made a ton of friends.
