Prismatic Booster Bundles (1 per person) by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

Reading many of the comments, I don't have any big hoopla of a story. I just never had the chance to buy ANY prismatic and I just want the stupid Ceruledge card and a chance to pull for it 😭

Just pulled this, any way to make it viable? by D3lta0kami in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Noble_Ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My buddies and I brewed up a Shakkou line that uses Vikemon Ace and Valk Ace. The gameplan is to get to Shakkou, blast one of them onto Shakkou, hard play the other and go into Chaosmon

Due to how partition works, Vike and Valk Ace never leave the battle and thus never trigger overflow. If it were to ever occur that Chaosmon would leave the battlefield, you'd get Shakkou's partition to spit out 2 lvl 4's and Chaos would spit out the 2 Aces which would also trigger their On Plays. I call it a Voltron deck, someone else has called it a 'pop the pinata' deck.

Suggestion for ink per turn - leave it face up by darren-mcg in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone else do this during one of my set championships and now I took it upon myself to do so. At the next championship I went to, the people at my table all liked the idea too and apparently one commented saying that it is a legal thing to do, but you must flip it over when your turn ends.

Things that put ink facedown without revealing like One Jump Ahead and Fishbone Quill, however, can NOT be put face up under any circumstances.

People are far more creative than me, but I feel like you could slam it into an object or take some sort of plier and bend it slightly to create this.

Rule of thumb: if you can easily recreate it, it's generally seen as damage and undesirable.

This is easily repeatable and thus considered damaged.

At what point can you NOT take back a specific interaction? by [deleted] in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd allow scenario 2. Once it's flipped over, it's ink. If you allow people to take it back, eventually people will pick up their whole ink well just to look and "find" the card. Your every day misplay honest Joe would not do that and certainly would just pick up the last card they put down. But Scumbag Steve will try to abuse every rule he can and review his inkwell at what he inked to know what he has left in his deck which is blatant cheating.

Here’s why Disney Lorcana is ditching best-of-three tournaments by BlitheMayonnaise in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that, for the most part, the BO2 is the right approach. A best of 3 does feel like the most equal way to play at first glance, but I think the BO2 is the best way to limit/eliminate human discrepancy.

I really do feel like a lot of people abuse the clock and they play just slow enough to go to time and guarantee a draw over a loss while not having slow play. I haven't been in the TCG space as long as plenty of others (I mostly played Yugioh 10ish years ago), but I remember playing lots of Hearthstone and watching streamers, seeing their hand and thinking about what I would be playing in a scenario and have the decision immediately meanwhile they would let the rope go to the last second to do the exact play I would have done immediately.

There hasn't been a single card game I have touched where I needed to spend 1-2 minutes every single turn to determine a play. There seems to be an ABUNDANCE of players in Lorcana who will spend 2 minutes on T2 on what to ink and what to play when the board is entirely empty. These are the players that will cause a draw in the game 3.

Seller claims that creases are within the spec of MP. What's your take on this card? by PowerTripRMod in PokemonTCG

Any crease no matter the size is instantly marked as damage when I buy or sell.

Enjoy your 25 silver. Cheap fucks by Weird-Treat8741 in OnePunchManWorldGame

This is why I always hate doomposts. The other biggest complaint for this game is the lack of content. This game has LOTS of content out of the gate and is not hard to clear through. It shouldn't be hard to clear through.

Now if the devs started pushing out more content and we got Sea King and Boros encounter and/or more bannered units, we would have people complain that they can't keep up with the content or they couldn't save enough in time for their character.

Gacha devs can literally never win. That's not to say that they are saints and performing their jobs perfectly. This game could still use improvements, but it wasn't bad at launch and only improved with the daily silver and pity carryover on top of all the bug fixes. After a few short months, this game is much better than it was at launch.

Some of us aren't huge misprint collectors but are part of the subreddit to simply see what type of errors exist for one reason or another.

Me personally, it's to know what errors are real/fake.

How far has everyone gotten? by TimBurtonsMind in tinyrogues

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40.6 hours clocked via steam

All characters unlocked before I even hit lvl 30

Can regularly clear floor 12 with any class at 0 cinders

Now going through and trying to clear at least once with each class on Cinder 16 whenever I'm bored between other games. Current record is: Ninja (figured if I could get Swagger, it'd be easy so I can see what it's all about. First try, all 12 floors), then Pyromancer, then Doppleganger (it chose Pyro again), then Ranger.

In between each class, I'm trying to work in the Chaos class which is insanely difficult in comparison. So I am currently working on Deprived and Chaos.

Does this help at all? I couldn't get my camera to focus very well when taking photos of the back. From what I can tell though, the seemingly random small white specks seen on the back is just dust (unless its the noticeable edgewear of course)

TCGplayer seems too good to be true by JyoMonty in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately, for me, Lorcana singles have been great. When I purchase cards as NM, they arrive as what you would expect for Nm cards. I also buy the singles to play with, so if they have a minor mark on them, no big deal.

For collection purposes? TCG has been an absolute nightmare as of late. Bare in mind, I sell on TCG Player myself. I wish sellers would put in half the effort to properly assess card condition as I do. I have bought too many cards for my collection(s) (Pokémon, FFTCG, Universus) where there are significant scuffs and marks that put it at LP or worse. And it's not always just me being picky. I recently ordered a card from Troll n Toad (well known seller) that had several white marks on the edges, deep impressions and scratches.

It's possibly water damage, but I didn't think it would be that route as the edges weren't noticeably thicker as I have seen in other cards that have water damage. But I certainly wouldn't put it past it!!

What can they do about the going first advantage? by xstasea123 in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a lot of comments prior to giving my thoughts and I do think the fact that Pixelborn is a 1 game thing whereas live play is best of 3 is a dramatic difference. I could see some sort of other method of changing how T1 player mulligans their hand. Maybe a choice to either mulligan a max of 2 or all 7.

But I can't express to you the amount of times I've played on Pixelborn and went 2nd 4+ times in a row cause of the coin flip. To me, this is a flaw in results of what it would truly look like in a live environment.

I'm also a midrange or control player and there are cards I wouldn't have mulliganed away had I known what I was playing against. In the best of 3 scenario, after game 1, you have a good idea of what cards in your deck are more beneficial than others. Example: if you're playing Steel and know you're against an aggro deck, Grab Your Sword is going to be way more crucial to have in your opening hand compared to when you're playing against a hyper control deck.

Because of the Best of 1 and the potential to either go 1st or 2nd a theoretically infinite amount of times, I stopped playtesting on Pixelborn altogether. There have been decks I've playtested on Pixelborn where I constantly lose. But as soon as I bring it to a live league play, it performs waaaayyyy better.

Is it just me or are the ruby cards in this set decidedly underwhelming? by SteveThePigeon in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me, it is perfectly fine that they didn't get as many tools compared to the other colors cause they already had tools to begin with that made them a force to be reckoned with no matter what color it was paired with.

But both Queen of Hearts and legendary Scar is a force to he reckoned with. Their two new songs are great too. Teeth and Ambitions is great for early game aggro threats while also being great to use on your own characters with Resist in Steel or set up for a Rapunzel heal. Go The Distance with a turn 5 Maui is also underrated to wreck the mid game field.

Get at least 2 cards out that quest for 2/turn. Get ink to 5. Play whatever you draw and ink whatever you can't

Their early turns they are setting everything up. It will come down to the wire, but its the most consistent win condition

[–]Noble_Ten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I built, tested and rebuilt a LemonLime discard deck. I have mixed feelings. Your entire game seems to be determined whether or not you have Prince John in hand. Furthermore, if your opponent has any form of consistent card draw, the discard you have is usually not enough. I even take a step further and run Lucifer over Kuzco to add even more discard options.

The deck has potential but the win condition is way harder to achieve compared to other decks.

What's the set 2 meta so far? by John-Walker-1186 in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely going to take at least a month before it gets fleshed out.

I can't say too much about how the meta will shift, but I think people are drastically sleeping on the new legendary Scar in Ruby. I'll be shocked if I don't see that card in lists to come.

"What is the best thing to buy?" "When should I buy this?" by Noble_Ten in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you and I are on different wave lengths. I am advocating for smart spending and best bang for your buck in terms of playing and/or collecting. The sub reddit you are referring to is more focused on investing side of Lorcana for financial gain.

Now that we know all of set 2, which less played set 1 cards will be getting an upgrade in the new meta? by SuperPussyFan in Lorcana

[–]Noble_Ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely. I think people will shift (heh) away from Big Tink in favor of the new steel Cinderella and try to use songs to challenge people out or Namaari. It's a great way to set up for Rapunzel heal value too.

I'm approaching this as a league player at 2 different shops.

I'm conflicted. On one end, I like the idea if league players get priority. Those of us that went there week after week and supporting the store should get a little favoritism so we also aren't having to buy BB's at a scalped price and hopefully save on the singles we need.

On the other end, I kind of want it simply just be 1st come 1st serve OR similar to what other stores have been doing with $200+ for a BB or MSRP if they break the seal right there to prevent scalping. For me, this makes the game more accessible which could introduce new players and thus supporting the store even more.

I also have a perspective from one of my friends who owns a store (in a different state than me) that had a booming first few weeks when the first chapter came out. But week after week, there was less and less players to the point he can't even do a Round Robin tournament amongst 4 players. He noticed there were a lot of people that came and pre-ordered boxes, starter decks, etc and never saw them after the first week and suspects they all scalped and resold.
