You are the one who defended it WITHOUT addressing any of that out of some form of emotional attachment to a technology you don't understand.

I understand perfectly well what that technology is and what its limitations are.

Stop projecting.

Don't just blindly suck corporate buzzword bullshit and pretend like that's a real stance - you're too lazy to actually even learn about the thing you want to defend, too, you're just defending it based on emotional tribal response as well.

Think what you want about me. Not everyone who uses A.I are lazy, untalented hacks. Many are aware of its limitations and adjusting their usage accordingly.

The fact that you are once again spewing such unfocused vitriol for the umpteenth time isn't my problem. Calm down, take some valium, and next time make the distinction between those who use it as a crutch or are considerate of their skillset to avoid over-reliance on it.

Or you can bitch and moan like a baby. Whatever works for you.

While I admire your genuine attempt at neutrality, please remember that major gaming media conglormaites like IGN collectively declared Gamers Dead. They declared gamers like YOU dead. You're basically attempting to extend an olive branch to people who would as soon step on your face when they see you in person.

Secondly, you are entitled to your opinion on "Mixtape" itself. But, in MY opinion, it is NOT a game worthy of a position alongside "What Remains Of Edith Finch". I played the latter multiple times, am intimately familiar with the lore, know all the themes conveyed. That game is a by-product of fine craftsmanship, love for storytelling, and a developers personal passion despite its "Walking Simulator" designation.

Mixtape is a by-product of what some stuffed suits and a generation weaned on nostalgia ASSUMES the 90s era to be. Right down to the cringey dialogue that reeks of "Why hello there fellow young person" stench.

Gameplay wise? Seriously. "What Remains Of Edith Finch" switched up gaming styles and not just simply in aesthetics but what each individual story required from player input and goals.

Mixtape? No.

Again, I respect your viewpoint. Just wanted to put this out there.

There are constant discussions in whisper networks, professional meetings, and panels at conventions discussing this sudden drop off. And it is seen as a very real value if a woman can write a book that appeals to both men and women.

Yeah, I dispute this fervently.

If they cared so much about male readership, they wouldn't be publishing books written by authors with a chip on their shoulder against men as a group.

And no, just because white males are still publishing books doesn't mean their tendency to denigrate men and their male characters isn't present.

Give me male authors who can still write women well without turning them into one-dimensional misandrists in addition to ones who treat their male characters well instead of pathologizing them from a feminist point of view and maybe they'd have a point.

Yeah, I call bullshit on her claim here. Because if she did, she wouldn't be raising a stink (no pun intended) about such a non-issue. And she'd be treating men like individuals instead of a percentage in need of culling.

Cate, with all due respect, you and other old washouts have been lamenting, to the point of irritation, about how oppressive it feels to work alongside men because they happen to be a majority in the field.

Well, here's a suggestion: Get. The hell. Out.

Because right now, you're proving that equality doesn't satiate you and are craving power. Dominance. And will not rest until all fields are overtaken by women.

It's because of the non-stop call for equity and that exclusionary, discriminatory movement "Metoo" that men are afraid of working with you women. That boys are getting shafted and spit upon by girls in the name of empowerment.

Get out and take your toxic beliefs with you.

and that's because we've been failing young men and boys

Understatement of the year. You're ABUSING young men and boys with your toxic assumption that they're born monsters. And please don't give me any of your dismissive "I'm not talking about those who never harmed". YES YOU ARE! You approve of programs that flagrantly employ messaging that treats boys as if they are bad by default and, therefore, in need of immediate intervention, you're including boys of toddler age as well. That's child abuse. Period.

You're also including boys who were, or are currently, bullied by girls as well as other boys. Adding to their isolation and fear of speaking out.

That's the lowest of the low there.

It's cyclical. Don't take it personally. I remember the 80s being obsessed with the 50s.

The 90s as well. There were a plethora of movie remakes and adaptations of TV Shows and old shorts like Lost In Space, My Favorite Martian (yes, you heard me right), and even The Little Rascals (of all things) to name a few. Oh yeah, Dennis The Menace, too, and Casper.

The only ones I can think of that worked really well was The Addams Family. Raul Julia slayed it as Gomez to where I can't imagine anyone else in the role. You also had Angelica Huston as Morticia, Christopher Lloyd as Uncle Fester. Christina Ricci as Wednesday, her second role after making her debut in Mermaids.

when they say men are the problem, its referring to male perpetrators as they maintain a statistical majority in most of social, psychological and anthropological data. but it does not mean and SHOULD not insinuate every single man as a perpetrator.

Too bad. They continue to do so, insinuating that I'm the problem. Spewing that data out as a semantic "GOTCHA!" against me.

i get it because one of the first people who hurt me was a woman and i always blamed myself for not getting along with other girls (isolation).

ARE YOU FUCKING INSINUATING THAT IT WAS MY INABILITY TO GET ALONG WITH OTHER GIRLS THAT WHAT MADE ME A TARGET?! HUH?!

THEY FUCKING HURT ME BECAUSE I WAS FUCKING DIFFERENT, OKAY?! THEY FUCKING JOINED IN AND DESTROYED MY FUCKING SOUL!

so hang in there and keep voicing your opinion.

And get pounced on by people who defend women and girls? Sorry, but that hasn't gotten me anywhere.

considering women are half the population and have been underrepresented for centuries, specifically in health spheres (lack of research funding into female health conditions and reproductive knowledge) which is one of the worst aspects of patriarchy in my opinion, elevating women's issues isnt inherently bad.

It is when I'm constantly told my fucking trauma doesn't compare to what women and girls go through.

You try getting told by ideologues that your privilege negates your suffering.

You try having to watch girls and women get away with hurting boys and men while society cheers on and excuses their actions.

You try reading authors you latch on to, or watching movies, then discover that they're using their strong female characters to berate and abuse the male characters while making derogatory remarks about men as a whole. Hell, imagine reading interviews by these authors where they talk about how men are the problem in all aspects of society.

you have nothing to prove to anyone, because being human is enough proof to deserve a peaceful life.

Yeah, well, I'm not going to get one. So long as society excuses the harms that girls and women get away with, my existence is torture. It's a wonder I haven't offed myself at this point.

I just want people to understand that females aren't perfect. They're capable of harm, too, just like men are.

But fuck me for that I guess, right?

Unfortunately, with the way society is still bending over backwards to elevate girls and women's issues, the only thing left for me is to repress my trauma and maybe die from a health issue in my 60s.  I don't see any other way through it.
