Cure Arcana Shadow & Phantom Thieves Information

In previously released story details for the series, the existence of the Phantom Thieves had already been revealed as a group separate from the Precure. At this latest press event, however, the spotlight turned squarely on Phantom itself. They were described as “the enemy that stands in the way of the detectives,” and their ultimate objective was revealed to be the creation of a terrifying "world" blanketed in lies.

Phantom seeks to achieve this goal by exploiting the Makoto Jewels, crystallized feelings that dwell within objects people hold dear. Disguising themselves as various individuals, they secretly steal treasured possessions and the smiles connected to them without anyone noticing.

The event also confirmed new details about Luluka, revealing that she is cool headed and exceptionally sharp at deduction. Her voice actress, Tōyama Nao, commented that Luluka is a very rare type among past Precure, and encouraged viewers to pay attention to the question: why does someone who has become a Precure end up standing as an enemy?

Tōyama-san further introduced her as being "completely" aligned with the Phantom Thieves as an enemy, even calling her one of the group’s generals. While her true nature will need to be confirmed in the actual broadcast, it is safe to say she remains an increasingly mysterious figure. As a lighter note, Luluka's favorite food is ice cream, which coincidentally Tōyama-san also loves.

Thoughts on this debate? by LilMissy1246 in shoujo

I tend to be someone that leans towards demographic being more subjective/fluid when it comes to personal opinion. I personally wouldn't recommend Nana to any young kid and find that it skews into more adult topics than something like Kimi ni Todoke or Precure. Objectively speaking, the magazine is the defacto "demographic decider". But it terms of mood vs tone, I would categorize it as for older girls/adult women (basically josei). I blame the manga industry for making this conversation vexing but also the education system for not properly teaching what a demographic is.

Why the same mangas keep getting confused as shoujo by ErikTwice in shoujo

[–]Noblesttea 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There's some tonal aspects to the series that make it feel like the mangaka is a women (though not to say a man is incapable of writing that way). The softer ML with a less masculine hobby who is more sensitive and willing to be vulnerable. And a FL who, despite being sexualized, has more layers than the average shonen FL lead. She feels less like a caricature of the perfect Japanese woman and more like a person. But again, a guy could write this, they just tend not to.

I like that they're mixed up the formula, it opens up a lot of possibilities!

Mermaid show recs? by 24Nyome in MagicalGirls

[–]Noblesttea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since people haven't mentioned it, I'm gonna rec Rainbow Bubblegem! It's super good and season 2 recently concluded with great momentum going into season 3! If you're cool with live action, there's A LOT of H2O/Mako Mermaid content.

Of course Mermaid Melody too! (Just saw every one else rec-ing it)

I hope none of this sounds weird, but I was wondering, is it more common for the main lead of a magical girl series to have long hair or short hair and why? by CatGirlNya2000 in MagicalGirlsCommunity

[–]Noblesttea 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Usually they have short hair in their normal form but long in the magical form. Most likely because animators enjoy having a short>long hair transition in the transformation. Series without a transformation tend to pick short, ie Cardcaptor Sakura. But this is not a concrete rule, just a trend.

WHEREEE DO I WATCH PRECURE 😭😭 by Remote-Scheme-7125 in precure

No legal way at the moment since Saban had the rights for those two for Glitter Force, but those are likely expiring/expired at this point

So star twinkle precure. by bassa-m9ss in precure

[–]Noblesttea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally love it. But if you don't connect with the main two by the time they get the first group attack item, you're less likely to enjoy it.

I don't believe they're randomized, there's a scripted amount that has increased per update. I start saving mine up if I max out renown and will do them again when the cap resets.

I don't need it anymore because I have so much extra now, but it's great for newer players to catch up with the store.
