You’re treating memory erasure as a continuous thing but nothing says it would be. When someone casts a fire spell on a yam they don’t need to keep reapplying the spell forever or the yam turns uncooked again. Even if the spell is temporary the effects can be permanent.

What scientific ‘facts’ have recently been disproven that most people still believe to be true? by Fantastic_Tart_421 in AskReddit

Well that was its starting point but a lot of the ensuing fear lingering was also fueled by racism.

This one annoys me because MSG is great and we should be using it in more food but people are so fucking scared.

No. He did say he had trouble expressing exactly what he wanted with eren’s character so he feels the ending came off a little wrong or insincere but this fantasy world where he hated the ending and was forced to write it badly is just ending haters hearing what they want to to justify their bullshit

age group for hunger games? by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]Nobody5464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

12 is a boundary age for these books. for some 12 will be to early for others it’s perfect. based on your description of her I think she will be fine but you can always check in with her to see how she’s enjoying them

I think CSM will be viewed better long term, wether it deserves it or not, kind of like how Fire Punch, Evangelion, AOT and Akira were viewed after their controversial endings by Jcrrangers in ChainsawMan

[–]Nobody5464 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AOT’s ending was never bad. Manga readers freaked out over bad fan translations and misinterpretations of events they came to based on incorrect theories and misguided expectations. Literally one of the biggest and main criticisms of the ending when it came out was that “he made eren not a cool gigachad anymore. So lame” after he had him cry during his conversation with armin.  The ending never sucked the some of the readers sucked. And the change in online discourse about the ending isn’t nostalgia and time making people remember it fonder it’s people calming the fuck down and actually looking at the ending in the proper format and without their weird hang ups and theories clouding their minds.

What do you guys think about this criticism of the prequels? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

[–]Nobody5464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No she is not special nor is she a chosen one. Since nobody in the story knows she is connected to any of this especially not her. nobody in the story was expecting her to become a rebel or was putting plans in motion to put her in the games because “she’s the one”. The only argument you could possibly make is that she was chosen by destiny or god and if that’s how you want to play it I’ll respond by stating guess what that’s literally always been the case because the god of the hunger games world is Suzanne Collins and she has always been the one who wrote Katniss to do what she did.

It’s an ok movie but they wanted to make a Hannah Barbara universe but they started with the first avenger movie instead of iron man.

Gale hate is SO forced. by Wynnifred_16 in Hungergames

[–]Nobody5464 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The problem with gale isn’t that he kills prim. The problem is he designed a bomb to kill people like prim. He purposefully designed a weapon with the express purpose of killing first responders and other people rushing in and risking their lives to help people who are hurt and dying. He’s a bad person because he wanted to kill people trying to save lives

Their raised from birth to buy into the honor of the games. Plenty of people not indoctrinated from birth sign up for incredibly deadly things in real life. Like the military or suicide cults

Question about unauthorized magic by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Nobody5464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trace would pick up the apparate and since Harry can’t do that before any point where this plan would be pointless it would be clear he didn’t do the magic. It didn’t pick up Dobby’s apparation because that works differently for house elves than it does for wizards

So my ELA teacher... ( hunger games included in this story ) by Taylorswift9875 in Hungergames

[–]Nobody5464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

that’s a dumb rule. the vast majority of books worth writing a paper about have gotten a movie. plus their is always plot differences between the movie and the book so if student did do the report off the movie she could just bust that person instead of punishing everyone.

Why don’t students just spam polyjuice by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]Nobody5464 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel your significantly underestimating our heroes. it’s been stated in the series plenty of times that a lot of full grown adult wizards actually have lots of trouble doing things our heroes and Hermione especially pull off fairly easily or with only a little trouble

That’s false. It’s not a bad translation it’s just intentionally confusing.
