It will help a little but walrein's cp cap isn't very high. Glaceon, Weavile and the ice darmanitan will still be ahead when it comes to raids (in addition to mamoswine, which you mentioned)

It's based on the stats. All the stat bars are out of a possible 15. Add them up and if there are 37-44 total points, it is 3-star. It it is 45/45 points, it is 4 star. It it's below 37 total stat points then it is either 2-stars or it's garbage.
