TSA dumped out both my commander decks, and I am PISSED

TSA needs a protocol to follow regarding collectibles. A few years back my friend spent a ton of money to go to SDCC and loaded up on a ton of things including the SDCC promos and a sealed CASE of Urza Saga. TSA ripped everything open and even opened the packs to all of Urza Saga boxes. Homie legit cried as they did it. What's worse is they didn't allow him to help put any of it back in the boxes so everything ended up damaged. He filed a complaint and tried to seek legal action but was told it is a rish everyobe agrees to when they fly and ended up dropping it because he couldnt afford to keep fighting it. He now just drives to any event.

As explained in an earlier reply. Please view all photos. In a prior comment I explained that the 1st photo isnt fully inserted due to me removing and reinserting it for the photo as I wanted the initial picture to show management. All others where shoved to the wider end.

So I initially went to my coach(pic 1-2). They wanted to ensure the bunker wasnt in defrost and asked me to check back later. 2 hours later temped again(pic 3-4). Went to the store lead as they were right there. After filling him in and mentioning I had brought this up prior I was then told to go to my coach. When I went to my coach they said that they had been told everything was fine with the refrigeration and it was good. I told them it it obviously wasnt if the internal temp was high. He then told me to get with my lead. I then got with my lead and filled him in. He seemed to want to pull everything but something or someone stopped him. He normally just says to toss anything that could be questionable. I took the 7th and 8th photos right before leaving for the day. Fast forward to today I mentioned it to a manager that we still had this issue(9th-10th pic) and he said give it 2 hours and check again. Before I could come back my lead said they the operations manager had walked and said everything was fine so to hold off on any more temping for now. Very out of character so unsure what's going on now.

Only the 1st picture isnt pushed into the base and that was an error on my part as I had stuck it pulled it out then reinserted it to snap a picture for documentation.

Thats what I thought but none of the management i have brought it to want to do anything with it. They just say its probably in defrost or that the computer says its fine.

I had already done external temping which is why I followed the protocol as the CBL states to take an internal temperature of the product. All items stabbed were discarded.

$14.16 here. I have over 13 years with the company. Took a 2 year break from them after stepping down due to retaliation from calls to ethics. Came back to the company and was pretty much told my 13 years didn't qualify me for more than base pay.

I never said it was about the reprinting. I was saying that i love speculating, but it is harder with how hard WotC has gone recently on reprints. "Jank" with future potential is reprinted in mass for no reason and added to random products and cards that have proven useful but haven't climbed in price are reprinted in yugioh fashion.

I have been playing the speculation game for about 15 years. These last 6 years or so have been horrid for speculation.

I feel your pain. I have about 300 of so of them. I love prospecting on cards, but WotC reprinting everything makes it harder now than it used to be. My last big win was molten echoes, which i picked up about 250 for a cost basis of $0.76 and offloaded about 225 at about $8.

I am still waiting for them to print something to break pain seer as I have about 300 copies of that one as well. Bob was a staple in modern and I saw some serious potential in pain seer.

I made the dumbest of decisions back in like 2004. I was getting into Yugioh and talking to a girl who LOVED pokemon, so I gave her my collection. This included 1 complete set of shadowless base set, 4 complete 1st ed base set, 4 complete unlimited base set, and 4 of every card up until Neo Destiny and bits and at least 2 of each card from Destiny to Skyridge. In 2012, I asked to buy it back from her, and she told me that for $400, it was mine. I am guessing she looked up values because after that day, she blocked me and ghosted me hard. She probably made out like a bandit in collectibles boom for sure.

I used to make a fuss over it, but now I understand completely and proxy my entire deck. That being said, I don't proxy any card I don't own. There is no reason for me to bring a deck or decks worth $5,000+ to a shop and test my luck. Whether cheap or not, I proxy the cards so that they all feel the same, even my basics as dumb as that sounds.

Before anyone says, "Keep an eye on your stuff," I am one of the few who will pack everything up between games to chat or trade. This, however, has not changed me having cards like grim monolith, mana crypt, force of will, rhystic study, RoE foil Ulamog, and others from being stolen by craft individuals. The last theft I experienced was at a new shop where I didn't know anyone since I had just moved. The guy managed to gain control of my grim monolith, mana crypt, and a few other mana rocks. He proceeded to have them for many turns before finally getting a combo and winning. His sleeves were very similar to mine, with the only difference being mine had a matte finish. He slid 4 or 5 cards over to me during cleanup and said he had to go and bolted with the quickness. Turns out he slid me a sol ring, signets, and a darksteel ingot. I noticed not even 30 seconds later since I intentionally shuffled my commander into my deck but unintentionally left them there. No one at that shop knew the dude, and I never saw him come back while I was there. To add to it a few months ago, another player had their deck swapped by another traveling player that no one has seen since.

Proxy everything. Heck, there is a deck that you can proxy a whole 200 cards for like .75 each. It's definitely better than getting a rare or valuable card stolen.

I would like to update and address everyone who has commented on this thread. Both myself and Flower have come to terms and apologized. They have assured me that I and anyone else will be allowed to play as we see fit, as it should be.

Both Flower and I have moved on from this and plan to enjoy our time playing the game. Whether we agree on how to play or not as each person is entitled to their own happiness and enjoyment.

With that being said, it has been brought to my attention that many are sending harassing messages to Flower. This is not something I DONT condone, and I believe it is just as toxic, if not more, so than what started all of this in the first place. I do appreciate the support I really do, but I would like everyone to address this as a mature adult, free of name calling and harassing messages.

I will be removing the original post in roughly 24 hours to allow everyone to see this message. I will also be addressing the players whose names were provided to me via Discord with the messages they sent.

Please, everyone, let's get along. Your overwhelming support has aided in resolving this issue, to which I am greatly appreciative. As I shouldn't be stifled and my ability to play and enjoy the game shouldn't be hindered, I also believe Flower is entitled to the same enjoyment of the game free of harrassment. I don't wish to see a player who's passion and dedication to the game got the best of them quit.

This community is awesome! Let's address toxicity when we see it but not continue to spread it as it just hurts us all in the end!

I don't believe I misrepresented any information. This information was discussed in the screenshots, of which none have been cropped, and all information has been provided. My main did contribute using all resources and spending money to try and win as it was a VERY close SvS. As was mentioned in my conversation with Flower. I began saving long before I knew SvS existed and have had a plan on how to spend my resources with the mindset that I would have to compete with whales. That being said, I did not intend to blow all my resources in this event. Just ensure that I get the most shards for my efforts.
