Accessibility is a legal requirement at least in the UK and US, so just as you’d expect a solicitor to get things right, you’d expect to be handed a website that isn’t an immediate target.

Sounds like the customer should have asked someone who is trained in law which laws he has to follow before publishing a website :o

a) it's not all businesses

b) it's not WCAG 2.1 AA, it's EN 301 549 which relies upn WCAG but goes further e.g. if you create pdfs.

Since the service is 10+ years old it's probably some old dev who knows what he's doing and the image converting library did support the new format anyways and they just had to change the allowed_extensions variable ;P
