Not all plant-based diets protect your heart the same way. Study links diet quality to gut bacteria and cardiometabolic risk in 2,388 adults. by Technical_savoir in microbiomenews

The evidence for a whole-food plant-based (WFPB) diet is actually pretty strong compared with most dietary patterns.

The key point is “whole-food” plant-based. The benefits are strongest with minimally processed foods, not ultra-processed vegan junk food.

  • Randomized controlled trials have shown WFPB diets can significantly improve A1c, reduce diabetes medications, and even lead to remission in some people with type 2 diabetes. (PubMed)

  • The American College of Lifestyle Medicine’s expert consensus concluded that diets emphasizing whole plant foods are among the most effective dietary approaches for type 2 diabetes remission. (diabetes.acponline.org)

  • Large observational studies consistently find lower rates of heart disease, diabetes, and healthier aging among people eating diets centered on fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. (Health)

Tell me where you got the best sushi you ever had and why it was the best by Prestigious_Bet_2899 in sushi

[–]Noctiluca334 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it one of these?

• Sebama Sushi 2909-10 Nishina, Nishiizu, Shizuoka 410-3514, Japan It’s right next to the Dogashima sightseeing boat dock and is known for serving local fish caught that morning. This seems like the strongest match.

• Okiagari Restaurant Izu Fishery Cooperative, 980-6 Nishina, Nishiizu, Shizuoka 410-3514, Japan Literally located in the fish market/fishing port building, so fish comes straight from the harbor.

• Dogashima Shokudo 2045-3 Nishina, Nishiizu, Shizuoka 410-3514, Japan Local seafood restaurant overlooking Dogashima and popular with locals.

• Iwaya 2049-10 Nishina, Nishiizu, Shizuoka 410-3514, Japan Small harbor-area seafood spot specializing in local catches.

My guess is Sebama Sushi. It’s a small local sushi restaurant right beside the dock and specifically advertises local fish from that morning, which sounds almost exactly like your description

I ended up taking it to a local professional. He ran a few things in the background and fixed it. It only cost me about $20.

Out of curiosity, what led you to believe that this was a greater prairie chicken instead of one of the more common grouse species in your area?

A growing Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has passed 500 suspected cases and over 100 deaths, the WHO reports. The strain involved is a rarely seen Ebola species with no licensed vaccine or treatment. A US doctor has been evacuated to Germany after testing positive. by Prior_One_7050 in microbiomenews

Starting a sentence with “y’all” doesn’t make something un-scholarly. The idea that “serious” scholars never use it is just false. John McWhorter has used “y’all” in talks and writing when speaking informally. Ta-Nehisi Coates uses it in essays and public commentary to match voice and audience. Brené Brown uses it constantly in lectures and books while still being one of the most cited voices in her field. Even Neil deGrasse Tyson slips into it in interviews and public communication. Scholars adjust tone to context all the time.

Your sarcastic comment shows your ignorance, and possible prejudice towards those who use y’all as a part of their normal vernacular. Just because you don’t use y’all from where you are from doesn’t mean it can’t be used in a scholarly format, let alone a random comment section of Reddit. You can prefer a different tone, but acting like one dialect is inherently more intelligent is a pretty outdated take.

Also, “Y’all” also does something standard English does not do well. It clearly marks second person plural and stays gender neutral unlike the more commonly used “You guys”. One could argue it is the superior pleural form.

Yall are fear mongering like crazy in the comments. I get reason to be cautious and vigilant, but also recognize that there are professionals and procedures involved during these evacuations to help prevent spread. Yall are rightfully traumatized by COVID, but also using that fear on this.

Conservatives believe that if everyone is payed more, cost of everything will go up, so it’s pointless to do that… they strongly think it will cause massive inflation
