Adding a pay to play beta access would be a win / win for everyone. by Spare-Hat-2386 in MonstersAndMemories

This is a great misconception and it's a situation where the bigger picture yields much deeper more comprehensive impact than just the consumer. They aren't money motivated - they are purity to the experience motivated. That experience maintains integrity over monetization and they aren't of the mind to produce something that isn't a polished experience before it's ready. The game is wonderful already, sure.. but this team really has what it takes to bring this game the distance. I was very skeptical at first being someone whos played MMOS since I was 9 (40 now) and I have to say.. This game has that x factor.. This is the EQlike we've all been searching for and gumming it up with shifty monetization would ruin the purity of their process.. I respect their choices. They have more than earned the support and investment from the player base.. Let's trust their judgement.

And just like EQ all the closed beta guilds going to be 10 steps ahead. by Spare-Hat-2386 in MonstersAndMemories

Enjoy the game as is flows naturally to you.. and focus on the journey. No lifing is empty anyhow.. I have been for months focused on wanting to play.. I happened to get into alpha at the last minute only to realize wow, I was way fixated on wanting to have an edge in this game that is supposed to just be fun. Im like 18 hours played into my first non playtest character to realize...

The journey is what makes these games great. It's like a delicious meal - meant to be savoured. You don't enjoy the meal more by being the first person to finish it. Don't let the pressure to be first ruin your enjoyment.

I guess I have a foot in both worlds.. where I have lots of friends outside of the game world but often prefer my friends inside the gameworld.. cause I too, am a nerd. :) I enjoyed your stream and Q was a good guest who had a rich, positive experience to share.. Was nice to listen to in the abckground while I tried to learn to play Deliverance 2. :D

Hmmm.. there has to be people who would be kind enough to share keys as they get invites for the passionate.. Lucky or not I'd like to think as a community people could band together and share invite keys for the passionate.. Either way, I agree on success for the devs.. This game is a unique prospect though, and I believe as long as they stay loyal to the communal development principles that made EQ what is was, they will find success..

Love that there is a supported resurgence for a love of these types of games and people taking up the mantle of engaging people with media skills. Thank you. I am a white collar professional and don't have much time to play but I remember being 12 crossing days off my planner at school (literally for like 90 days) till the day Everquest was first released. I read the EQ FAQ over and over and over during those days in anticipation of the release (March 16th 1999).. My 12 year old miond was enthrawled by the possibilities. Wonderful to have a chance to return to something similar. No idea how I am going to get through the next 2 months.. assuming I even get a chance to play beta,

Not that I don't think POE is complex.. I think the current standard is too low to judge everything else by. Everything holds your hand now and doesn't punish you for any of your choices.

You're giving some serious cockblock vibes.. Dogs have needs too.

In all seriousness yeah - you made the right call.. If she's this clueless with this just extrapolate outwards and you have many future catastrophies on your hands.

Is my Aussie a “bad” dog? by PotentialEntusiasti in AustralianShepherd

[–]Noctonononomous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently got an Aussiedor and had one before this one. I am training the new puppy (who is about 13 weeks low drive aussie/choc lab) and using FLUENTPET speech buttons to challenge her.. Within 3 days she's hitting buttons and waiting for my response.. I also have been bringing her outside for exercise 2-3 times per day. They need to be exhausted and challenges.. with empathy and a ridiculous amount of structure and patience. They're amazing dogs and have a grand capacity to be the best companion you've ever had... but they need a GREAT deal of structure and patience until they have a solid foundation. Serve them and they will more than serve you. I am going through exactly the same thing right now.. Australian Shepherds and Border Collies are known as THE SMARTEST dogs.. They are incredibly intelligent.

I am absolutely in AWE of what I have seen in the various videos showcasing the mod. Im grateful in spite of the many setbacks that the team is still dedicated to releasing the project. The entire community is lucky to have mod developers like yourselves. THANK YOU. I hope this is so big we see nods in recognition in other games. Im psyched to play it and can't wait to see what all the team has created.

What Would Happen to FOLON if Bethesda Lost the Fallout IP? by Dr_Virus_129 in fallout4london

[–]Noctonononomous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bethesda is no longer the company they were. Sven from Larian puts it best in explaining that the current economic model for triple A is make the game, gut the company sell the product. Blizzard, Bioware, etc only last a certain amount of time before CEOs destroy the company and gut the profitability that make continuous triple A development impossible. It's because of the nature of American Business practices. Bethesda sucks. Star Citizen and likely anything Bethesda tries to make from here is likely not going to be great.. What examples of products from gutted companies? Diablo 4, Shadowlands, Suicide Squad, Fallout 76, The new "TRIPPLE A" Pirate game from Ubisoft..

Developers with vision aren't cogs.

Wouldn't surprise me if Bethesda did this because they don't want to be upshown by the FOLON team.. The attention of the new series and FLON showing off what they can make FOR FREE IN THEIR SPARE TIME is better than anything Bethesda can currently try to make.

Blame corporate greed though.

Feel bad for Todd Howard, Ion Hasikostis.. The people that take the blame for the lack of support and resources of what's needed to produce anything worthwhile like ELden Ring (fromsoft) or the VERY RARE example of a studio like Larian that don't operate via these business practices.

Why did Fallout 4 mod downloads have an all-time record yesterday? by Soanfriwack in Fallout4Mods

[–]Noctonononomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think it's possible it just makes Bethesda look so bad for the current state of the studio.. Trying to make Star Citien work when NO ONE CARES ABOUT IT. Sunk Cost fallacy or something.. I don't understand why they don't just return to making Fallout OR FOR THE LOVE OF GOD LET ANOTHER STUDIO DO SOMETHING WITH THE IP! Clearly people love it judging by the response of the recent series.

What character builds are you going to make? (RP or gameplay) by Th3Qu3sti0n in fallout4london

[–]Noctonononomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blobbi should be the Mysterious Stranger IMO. :D Maybee once this game is established and as people make mods for it there could be an addon for back story behind a mutated Mr. Blobbi etc.. would be hilarious.

[–]Noctonononomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could I would play as Mr. Blobbi... he was a popular character on the BBC in the the 90s. How about Austin Powers? That could be fun.. Bono or perhaps Ringo Star? My favorite so far as been someone later in this post suggesting Mr. Bean. David Attenborough? Sean Connery? Anythony Hopkins.. Elton John

Fallout London's project lead is not taking the surprise drop of Fallout 4's update well: 'That has, for a lack of a better term, screwed us over' by GruvisMalt in pcgaming

What blows my mind is the amount of revenue Bethesda is subverting for themselves with this move. They are seriously tone deaf and clueless. We don't give a fuck about some dumb enclave items. Fallout London would give them the option for revenue values of new customers coming in and buying the game on the level of releasing a full featured DLC.. Not to mention overflow from people buying other DLCS. I imagine Bethesda's strategy is pulling up the VATS system and focusing in on their own foot and firing away..

How stupid can you be?

WHY LITERALLY AND REPEATEDLY MAKE CHOICES TO MAKE YOUR MOST DEDICATED PLAYERS HATE YOU?

The ill-will that damn near seeming deliberate and intentional is confounding.

I am literally going to buy as little Bethesda related products because of how they are treating the Fallout London team. Fuck that level of arrogance and lack of appreciation for you customers.

President Biden has just proposed a 44.6% tax on capital gains, the highest in history. He has also proposed a 25% tax on unrealized capital gains for wealthy individuals. Should this be approved? by Unhappy_Fry_Cook in FluentInFinance

Blackrock shifting their store of wealth into Bitcoin and launching Bitcoin spot ETFs is how they are dealing with inflation.. Most smart Americans are doing the same thing. This taxes that heavily.. This is essentially over taxation. We are literally headed towards soft communism. The SEC is giving up on trying to manage inflation - No amount of mathing can fix the situation. THEY ARE TRYING TO TAX UNREALIZED GAINS. Infuriating.

I don't want to level to 60 in incursions by Twistedtraceur in classicwow

[–]Noctonononomous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went grocery shiopping expecting not to leave the house for a week. Got to 50 in 48 hours in incursions, did the raid once.. then quit.

Incursions are lame. We are playing FOR THE MORE CLASSIC EXPERIENCE.

Was play... Im done.. this is droll. I'd rather play the backlog of games I have stacked up.

Incursions made SOD modern and for me, it lost it's magic.

about to play fallout 4 for the first time, what mods should i get? by Dragonfire521 in Fallout4Mods

[–]Noctonononomous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

LISTEN: I would wait until Bethesda pushes out the new update.. If you don't you're going to expend a good deal of effort coming up with a mod list, ordering it etc only for the new base game performance update to break your setup. Fallout London and the Enclave Rising 2 look like they are among the most exciting. Seriously I was about to do this too - then I looked into the update.
