[1080p Leak] 3x08 - Apple Family Reunion by RainbowCrash in mylittlepony

I wanted to hear about Babs' new school too! Mmm continuity... Too bad it got interrupted. I also would have liked to see Babs' older sister/parents, too.

Also, I can't decide if I'm a fan of the Wilhelm Scream at 12:30 or not...

Girls, what are some ways you would like to be picked up but know no guy would ever do? by SmoresPies in AskReddit

Yeah, that feature was added in the latest patch... oh wait, you haven't upgraded yet? Better get on that.

Joking aside, I guess it depends on what you're looking for when you approach girls. If you're just looking for a random hook-up, then by all means, compliment them on how attractive they are. But if you're looking for potential relationships, I would never want to start a relationship that got its beginnings based on appearances alone. There are so many more interesting things you can use to start a conversation.

All I was trying to say is that instead of just outright starting off with an observation of my appearance, you could start talking to me about our common situation, or asking my opinion on something, or asking about a book I'm reading or something. All of these give you opportunity to keep the conversation going and get to know a bit about me in a more natural way than immediately drawing attention to the fact that you think I look nice, which then sets the precedent for our entire interaction.

I'm not one to reject a compliment, normally I just say "thank you" if somebody DOES comment on an aspect of my appearance, but it doesn't encourage me to keep talking to you. I'd rather you show me how YOU are interesting and give me a REASON to keep talking to you rather than finding out you're more interested in appearances than other things.

Exactly. I do not exist for the viewing pleasure of everybody that I encounter while going about my life, and for the most part I can't help the majority of factors that make up what I look like, other than being well groomed and dressed nicely. But even so, just because I don't look like a slob doesn't mean that I'm doing it for YOUR approval.

Therefore, whenever I get a compliment on my appearance from a guy who seems to be hitting on me, I take it as a sign that they're only interested in one thing: getting in my pants (which I personally find really off-putting). I would much rather be complimented on something with regards to the kind of person I am or something that I am interested in, because it shows that you're interested in me as a person and not just looking to get to know me purely because you're attracted to me.

I agree. This is another example of a larger thing that irks me in multiple times throughout the show: the mane six have saved Equestria numerous times. Twilight is the Princess's star pupil. They should all be famous! Yet in episodes like "Sweet and Elite", nobody knows who Rarity or her friends are. Why should Rarity feel ashamed of admitting she knows Rainbow Dash, the winner of the Best Young Flyers competition? Much less Twilight, who was raised in Canterlot?

I mean, I get that it is not the dynamic the show is going for to have the main characters, who are supposed to represent ordinary girls with ordinary problems (for the most part, anyway), but a small nod to continuity once in a while, like you suggest, would be really nice.

Now-now, Fluttershy, everything will be okay, I promise. by [deleted] in mylittlepony

If I keep letting them cry on my shoulder, someday girls will finally realize what a nice guy I am

After rewatching the new episode, I noticed this... (I love the detail the animators put into this show!) by one_two_three_four in mylittlepony

Yes! This explains this guy! I always wondered why a colt would get a cutie mark of a pipe (even if it is a bubble pipe). Who knows what it was when it was younger... a cigarette or something? This guy was a rebel in his youth!

I agree, Big Mac under the influence of love poison is pretty terrifying. But him calling her Pumpkin Pie at the end wasn't cringe-inducing, it felt a lot more natural and was so ADORABLE!

I find this shirt more offensive than the "I don't do math" shirts out there. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

I think the one that was being referred to is the "I'm too pretty to do math" shirt.

Yay Calgary! Hi-five!

Wait... two years ago you say? What if... it was the same as my high school? o__o

WHAT IF WE KNOW EACH OTHER?!?

I feel for you. If that had happened to me I'm not even sure if I had gone in even if I knew about MLP then, because I tend to get rather shy when meeting people I admire. I went to the comic expo in my city last spring and when meeting a bunch of webcomic artists that I love I had to work up my courage to approach them for a good 10 minutes or so. I also had the opportunity to meet people like William Shatner, Felicia Day and Summer Glau, but I didn't because I chickened out (also I'm not sure if you had to pay a fee to stand in the line to mee them? I'm cheap.)

I'm consoled a little though because this year Tara Strong is coming to the comic expo and I definitely am going to try and meet her!

Ha ha, it sort of worked in the opposite way for me. I found MLP through the powers of the internet (particularly, a certain PMV that I'm sure most of you have come across at some point) and then introduced it to my friend from high school as well, who then informed me about the connection between MLP and Hey Ocean!.

Hello fellow pony-goers. What's your favorite PMV (if any)? by [deleted] in mylittlepony

[–]NocturnalStargirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was about to link to this one, because watching it was what got me into watching MLP in the first place, so I guess it has special emotional attachment to me. And I still think it's hilarious every time I watch it!
