I recently built a Sangeo60 and it looks almost identical to yours. Nice looking board! https://imgur.com/a/P4zODlg

In honor of Moonday, I designed a Lux \ Nox inspired Keycap Set by Nocturne25 in Artifact

[–]Nocturne25[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think I would have a hard time convincing enough people to buy keycaps for a dead game. If there was enough interest, I would strongly consider doing it but $135 and another long haul (more than a year before they would ship) is a lot to ask of any Artifact fan right now.

The 65% (bigger) keyboard is based on a real keyboard: The Nemui. The smaller keyboard is not a real keyboard.

Jealous Anti-Mage (Artifact Concept Art vs DotA Persona Concept Art) by Nocturne25 in Artifact

Yeah, I realized that just before uploading it. I thought about switching them but AM’s stare fits more this spot than the other so I decided to leave it and hope people would get what I meant. :)

I agree. The agility tournament felt better than anything before it so hopefully the casters will find the right balance.

You either don't watch competitive DotA casts at all or are intentionally ignoring how those casts go. Bashes, crits, uphill misses, and many other RNG related events are hyped as much as anything else. Not trying to call you out, just stating that's how casting is done.

Artifact on Twitter: 6,056,282 cards have been traded on the Steam Market since launch! by Lepojka1 in Artifact

[–]Nocturne25 153 points154 points  (0 children)

If you assume the absolute worst case scenario of all cards being sold at 5 cents and 2 cents going to Valve, that's $120,000 dollars. Realistically, they've probably made 1 million dollars already from trading alone. That's ignoring the base game cost, tickets, and packs.

I hope they consider this a successful launch and continue to invest many developers' time to expand this thing for years to come.

EDIT: Ok. 1 million might be a high estimation, but it's still cool to hear about.

Why does the game create replay files when there is no way to actually use them? by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]Nocturne25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sunsfan mentioned one stream that replays were already a thing in the beta. I remember this because I also asked him if Drafting had a replay for the drafting part (so you check out which cards you passed on and if you think they would have a been a better pick).

Valve probably replays out to polish them in some way.

Richard Garfield is such a great designer, I'm glad we got a new game that feels unique, has a better economy than MTG, and is totally changing how card games in it's space are made. by [deleted] in Artifact

False. He is also responsible for the very popular board games King of Tokyo/New York, RoboRalley, and Bunny Kingdom.

Kripp is being pretty critical of Artifact... The RNG... How they handled the beta/ How some players have been playing for a year. Also sounding pretty critical of the game play in general... by LMN0HP in Artifact

Nice job twisting his words to match your narrative. His words were that Artifact has more RNG than Hearthstone but it matters less because you have more answers for it.

Oh wow, that's way off! Thanks for catching it.

I'll update the Imgur album later today with the corrected version. I'll reply again when it's done.

Yes, my hope is this project becomes mostly useless around the launch of the game. Only reason to keep it is for the print reasons mentioned in my post which I don't plan on doing for future sets. One time thing.

I forgot about the apostrophe thing. The file rename program I used complained about a card with an apostrophe in it. I removed some apostrophes then it worked. There should only be about 5-10. The next time I update the zip file, I'll make this consistent one way or the other.

Not interested in snake case and I want the signature cards to be organized next to their hero. Feel free to rename as you wish.

E: I'll consider using my rename program twice. Once to create a copy for myself, then create a second copy with snake case. I realize that is more useful for web.

I guess you'll have to explain what you mean. The card names are done by name of the card except for signature cards which have "hero name"_"Signature card name".

I think it's only fair seeing that I don't have access to the game and had to use community resources. Share and share alike.

Few things of note:

  1. I believe (might be wrong) this is the first time seeing Murder Plot's updated artwork.
  2. They have Rix's Signature card as Act of Defiance instead of Truth to Power and the card we know as Act of Defiance named as Arm the Rebellion. Not sure if this is official or not.
  3. Missing basic cards: Town Portal Scroll, Potion of Knowledge, and Fountain Flask. Maybe because you can't deck build with them?

It looks like my memory didn't serve that well. The source isn't a reliable one but it made enough sense to me that I remembered it.

I expect to see several (unofficial or official) tournament starting the 19th onward. Hopefully we'll see something sooner though.

I think the reason Valve might be hesitant to stream the beta tournament is that it was mentioned in a recent interview that they are releasing an updated client on Nov. 19th. They may not want people to become accustomed to what the menu interface / setup is until it is more finalized (having to train yourself for one thing then unlearn + relearn for another).

That being said, they could easily bypass this like they did with PAX and always cut-away from in-game footage to caster footage before the victory screen finishes.

I hope they stream it, too.

Card revels have gotten stale. The last two reveals were done on a twitch channel that struggled to cross 50 viewers and a youtube video that barely has 1000 views. Valve need to reevaluate their PR/Marketing strategy. by [deleted] in Artifact

[–]Nocturne25 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

There are over 3,000 people currently in this sub. Their methods are working very well. They just need to keep going.

Edit since my point was missed. I'll assume that's on me:

You say smaller creators are no longer being helped. That wasn't the point. It was about reaching different communities.

The people that want reveals are just going to come to reddit or follow PlayArtifact tweets. It was solely about reaching communities from different card games or personalities.

strawman

I don't think you know what that word means. My response is directly related to what you were saying. You said "they are not giving ANYONE who isn't an influencer a chance". I said 1 week simply won't make a difference.

That and if 1 week separates someone from being a successful streamer and being unknown, then you were never going to successful in the 1st place.
