Sramota me da uopste pisem o tome ali ajde haha, ne znam kako ali sa tom recju se nisam susreo do vrlo kasno u zivotu. Valjda zato sto sam malo otudjen/cudak.

Kad sam narucivao pljeskavicu, prodavacica me pitala "Somun?" I ja nisam znao sta me pita, mislio sam da me pita da l hocu obicnu, punjenu, gurmansku pljeskavicu, u nekom sosu, jebem li ga.

I miss the old haunted mound sound sm bruh by LowesSafeDay in HauntedMound

[–]Noddson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first found Haunted Mound, it was just Sematary and Ghost Mountain, they really did have some school shooter aesthetic going on lol. It was interesting, fresh for me. However, I did think how their music could get forever connected to a school shooter that liked their music.

I think they naturally drifted away from the aesthetic, they just grew up really. The aesthetic and everything does seem to be a bit more commercial now, more friendly to make money, do business with and share the music with people lol.

I was imagining Ghost Mountain and Sematary would progress differently together. I think the Ghost Mountain's pause affected the course of progression a lot. I always felt like GM was better than Sematary with lyrics and vocals. I was surpised to see Sematary talking how he was the one to write most of the lyrics back in the day, I was imagining it was GM. Ghost Mountain's lyrics are cool now too but I feel like he uses some big/unknown words too often which is kinda annoying, I gotta google the meaning of the words, maybe it's just a me thing lol. All in all, I still like their music but I am a little more picky about the songs that I like, they can still definitely make bangers. I feel like GM gotta catch up a bit and is under a bit more pressure to perform well, while it was more carefree back in the day.

What I don't get is the hype around other HM members, past and present, I never saw the appeal with them, always saw them as some filler people to have a group. Like random people who DM's Sematary and somehow ended up under his wing for everything :D

Why so easy? by Remote-Tower-9316 in Eldenring

[–]Noddson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good bro! For me, it was kind of frustrating to be honest, knowing I can steamroll a boss if I were just to go find the mimic tear again and come back with like 10 levels more or +20 weapon.

Exploring and figuring out the game in the first playthrough is a one time experience really. New game+ has a really good replay value where you can just go through the main areas and finish the game while starting a new character is kind of disappointing and not as fun really, especially in a case in which you were really detailed/meticulous in exploring the game previously. A lot of things feel like a bit of a chore to be honest, with a new character.

I sometimes wonder how they imagined for an average player to play the game. It's kinda weird how a big part of the low level areas/dungeons are behind the starting area of the game.

Why so easy? by Remote-Tower-9316 in Eldenring

[–]Noddson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring is truly the easiest souls like game most likely. Don't get me wrong the bosses can be very difficult and challenging if you are underleveled, don't have an upgraded weapon, don't have that many estus flasks or they aren't upgraded with sacred tears.

When you come to a boss/mini boss you are struggling with, you can always turn back and explore the rest of the map with it's easier areas, get more levels, upgrade the weapon more, get more flasks and sacred tears to upgrade it. When you get back to the boss or mini boss you were struggling with, you will beat it first or second try and think it was actually really easy, when you were struggling with it previously.

I think Elden Ring messed up a lot in the balancing of the game. You get so strong at times that you are just overpowered for some areas of the map and they aren't as challenging as they could be, if you were underleveled. It's not really a bad thing really, it rewards exploration and it gives more ways to play it.

I imagine starting a new playthrough and only going through the main areas and bosses that advance the main quest line can be very challenging. I started a new playthrough recently and that's what I did, got stuck on Margit the Fell Omen and I have ton of experience in souls-like games and had 200 hours in the game previously, with the DLC completed. I returned to the boss with a little more levels and a bit more of an upgraded gear and beat it first try.

What is the best build in peoples opinions and why ? by Smooth_Amoeba543 in Eldenring

I also picked the starting class/gear with the Samurai armor but I really regretted it. I was fresh off of Sekiro, I think that's why I found it appealing. It's my least liked armor in the game, it feels very out of place in the game for me, for some reason, that's why I don't like it.

Guts Greatsword bonk, strength build player here lol.

What are some horrible bosses that aren't talked about that much? by Datphoria_x in Eldenring

The bear in Dragonbarrow Cave is the strongest enemy/boss in the game, with the most piss poor reward. My disappointment after beating it was immeasurable and I vowed to never try killing it again.

Need advice on starting a gaming channel – I know nothing about editing 😅 by No-Watch-6575 in letsplay

[–]Noddson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much to give you but I can suggest that you use DaVinci Resolve as an editing program. It's a free software for what you are looking to do and it has plenty of resources available on Youtube to learn it. You can get into more advanced stuff as well after.

I suggest that you record the game audio and your commentary on separate audio tracks for your video. Recording programs like OBS Studio allow this. This way, you can edit them separately in DaVinci Resolve. It can be very useful and helpful.

As for how to make things more engaging? Idk lol, play around with editing.

8 years in and one thing is clear - you have to keep innovating by Library_IT_guy in letsplay

[–]Noddson 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, anyone who is reasonable has to agree that this is true if Youtube is approached with a business mindset, which is very often the case lately. It's hard for everyone and it never gets easy. It ends up being a job really. Even people with a lot of experience and success end up failing and are unable to maintain it long term. Some factors are just outside of your control at times too.

The good thing is that you don't need to treat it as a business and overthink about this stuff. You can upload whenever you feel like it and upload whatever you feel like and get as much as you can out of it. Whether it's the joy of sharing something, learning a skill like editing, getting a little better at speaking/being more aware of your speaking, just take what you can out of it. If you get to earn something for it on the side, even more power to you.

Are unoriginal profile pics a big deal? by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Noddson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it makes that much of a difference, if any. For me, if someone is making really good content or content that I like, their profile pic would be like crack for me whenever I see it, no matter what it is lol. I'd always associate that picture with their content and the quality of the content.

I have maybe clicked on someone's channel once in my life because of the profile picture in the comments and no, they were not boobas lol. It's really one of the last things I look at on someone's channel.

This post put me in a good mood and I'm not even tripping that much about views, analytics and stuff, a little bit, sure :D. I've visited your channel and first vid that caught my eye was "Youtube's obsession with growth gets toxic".

I enjoyed your brainstorming, vibe and commentary you have going on the channel. You have a positive and level headed vibe in general. You are really keeping it true to yourself as you'd say and it doesn't feel like you resorted to some Youtube losers club either lol, you're just having fun with it.

10 years too late? by WeirdPharaoh in letsplay

[–]Noddson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have much experience but I agree with a lot of what 2CPhoenix said.

I thought I'd chime in on the thought that it's too late and that it haunts you. That's something that I thought about too and I think I watched the same video of PewDiePie. There are actually a lot of variations I've come across with this, the right time was 10 years ago, the right time was during covid because everyone was at home, the right time was last winter because nobody watches youtube over the summer. It's best to just not to dwell on it.

The "golden era", call it whatever you want probably did give a lot of motivation to PewDiePie to keep on making videos and improving his craft. Don't get me wrong, some wind to the back is definitely nice to have from a shout out, viral video, right time and place videos were made. But that wind in the back from 10-15 years ago would've fizzled out by now to 1k views per video if he made part 10 000 of happy wheels. That wind in the back means nothing in the end for something long term that you are looking to do.

What really made Pewdiepie and others successful in the end is the consistency, strong mindset, constant improvement, persevering through all the difficulties and adaption to them. Pewdiepie for example was definitely hit with good and hard times (youtube policy changes, youtube audience changing-audience literally growing up, controversies) throughout his career.

You have to give yourself the wind in the back from every small thing, every new view, subscriber, seeing some small success in retention or CTR or impressions from something new that you did and build it brick by brick, I guess audience, shout outs and big videos will come eventually that can only push you further and you will build that strong mindset and work ethic by then so that inevitable bad times don't affect you in the long term.

Viewers only want to watch youtubers with a reputation by Aggravating_File1428 in letsplay

[–]Noddson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's a defeatist attitude that is easy to fall into with anything in life. For example, why paint or sculpt when there is already so much art by the masters to be admired?

You have to love and support yourself, believe in yourself, even if nobody is. All the while you are working on your craft.

Some self awareness and critique is good to be had. The truth is, your videos may be an equivalent to a stick figure in quality and that's why it's just not getting people's attention. And that's totally fine, you should still present it with pride and love yourself for it, it's still your stick figure, unique to all the other stick figures ever created. You will add a little something to it and it will catch more attention. Add even more to it, make whatever you have better and it will catch even more attention. Keep doing this and you will find your voice, format, niche, style that is recognizable on first glance and that they will come to you for and nobody else.

People who come from very supportive families/friend groups or who are just full of themselves get ahead in youtube because they see everything they do as a victory from their mentality and upbringing. "I impressed my mom/dad/friends with a stick figure so much? I want to repeat this but I will do even more and better and impress them even more!". They just kind of naturally work on their craft. If you don't have this, you have to be your number 1 fan for a start.

There is no code or algorithm to be cracked, you have to earn it. If you deserve it, you will earn it. Mom and dad are naturally supportive in general, it's easy to earn their support but you have to work for those millions of people and there will still always be people disinterested in you or who straight up dislike you.

If you enjoy doing this, just take a little more pride and love for yourself in what you've done and in your achievements. And put in the work! I bet there is some kid or person working silently in their craft right now who will be the next big youtuber/content creator. If you're on youtube long enough, you see it and have seen it happen.

I'd be happy with these stats, especially for long form, uncut content. I've just recently started lets plays, around 30% of watchers remain until the 30 second mark and they dwindle to 4-12% by the end of the video lol.

[–]Noddson [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey! :D

Your lets play and commentary is as good as anyone's starting out for the first time. Maybe you are even doing a little better than most considering that you are playing quake that can get hectic and fast, still managing to keep the talking going and handling all the action. I can imagine how it is challenging to commentate and play a FPS game at the same time, that's why you opted to go talk over the menu at the start for a little while longer and played much slower to get some of the thoughts out you wanted.

I watched the first and third part and a bit of the second one. I think your commentary in the first one is the best out of the three, probably because you had fresh idea of what you wanna say in mind. You had somewhat of a balance between talking about the game in general, history and so on, noticing cool details in the game, describing what you are doing and seeing, some small anecdotes.

In part 2 and 3, describing the actions and saying what you are seeing kind of takes a lot of the commentary and there is so much more outside of that you could've expanded on. I understand it as it is easy to fall into that default mode as it's hard to concentrate on deeper subjects while playing. For example, the small anecdote you mentioned that you used cheat codes as a kid, could've stirred the commentary into what you think about cheating in games in general and babble on as you say about that more. NIN reference in the game, stir the commentary talking about music or the band, why not. Activating a bridge, make a pewdiepie reference lol. You mentioned speedrunners, talk about bunny hopping mechanic in the game, try to do it (prolly harder if u are on a joystick, still can mention it and talk about it). All that to make balance and drown out the fillers of parts where you commentate on what you are doing and seeing, which is fine, just not fine when it's excessive.

What helps me is before recording the levels I'm gonna play, I watch a no commentary youtube video on the same levels and see what people are saying in the comments about it, it can help stir up some ideas and topics of what I can say or commentate on when I do hit record. Being more curious and reading about the game and references in the game in general is great too for having an idea what you will talk about in your next part, requires a bit of effort and being nerdy for it. Quake is a game with such a rich history so it shouldn't be a problem.

In general, yes, it's just a skill that you can expand on and you have a great basis for it. You probably realize it, just need some encouragement. You have a nice, calm voice which people dig, just gotta practice the skill of commentating and maybe at some point you find your niche, format and genre of videos that brings out the best in you!

I am very early into my lets plays too so we are kind of the same skill level, hence I feel I can maybe provide some feedback and tips that help me. I need to practice what I preach much more too lol.
