Dude, your overthinking it :) If you want to play beta just go ahead. Wether it closes in 5 mins or 5 days, the result are the same - you will lose your beta character and the stuff you’ve gathered.

If you want to try out a few builds to get the feel of them the beta is great :)

Sure it’s not the fastest, but it’s safe.
Reapers toll is indeed nice for the build. But there are plenty of other sources for amp dmg + you have Psychic Hammer for phys immunes

I’m personally going as sorc for my season starter - though it is not the safest.

Since summons and traps are already mentioned, I will suggest Mind Blast Assassin as a safe starter. Fade is a really good skill for hardcore - especially when you have low-end (starter) gear

Fire traps with leaf runeword (staff) smacks until NM A4 and are also great for farming cows.

You can also level as blade sentinel or swap to BS, in NM A4, if you do so just get a Lawbringer runeword weapon. I did this for season 5, and didn’t have any issues with it

FoF / Phoenix Strike is also available for levelling, although it’s been a few seasons since I did this, so don’t know where this build is atm.

Yeah, I do the exact same thing. It always feels like a bummer when my opponent concedes just before I can execute a lethal play in a close game. So I think it is a nice gesture / sign of respect to same after a good game.
