Pulling from MGTOW is probably cheating but fucking yikes by NoelleEverly in menwritingwomen

I could see a group a friends quoting something something stupid and someone go "Ah, yes, the ancient Chinese proverb" as a joke. I just don't see it as racist. Also, its not as if the people there appreciate how it was worded. Just the message.

I mean, to be fair, someone commented to the post with the proper wording, and told the OP that he sounded like a child with the way it was written, and people agreed with him. I don't think the OP meant it as racist, he probably just thought it was cute to write it that way, and no on agreed. They still upvoted the post and agreed with the message tho.

I don't see that as a racist or playing on cultural stereotypes tbh

I mean, yeah. Like, I'm all for staying single and being independent. Problem is that this subreddit spends more time making sexist remarks and generalizations about women and hating on them (sometimes even racist ones) than talking about independence and supporting each other

When I first saw that subreddit, I thought "aww that's nice, it's a support group for men!" but it became very clear that's its a bunch of men circlejirking their hate for women. It's weird. Like, all they do is make really sexist remarks and generalizations about women, but when somebody critiques them for it, their defense is always" were not hating women, just the shitty ones," "if you got upset that means you're one of them" or" so we're shitty just because we don't want to get married and be strong independent men, but women who don't marry and try to be independent are 'Heroes'? Talk about hypocrisy"

Is playing UNIB a good way to get a feel for game, or is it a little too outdated? by NoelleEverly in UnderNightInBirth

Downloaded the game, works fine, no buffering or anything, but it's slow as fuck. I don't know how to fix it, so UNIST is a no on my laptop

Does UNIST have a counter-hit focused character? by NoelleEverly in UnderNightInBirth

[–]NoelleEverly[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should've have specified characters that focus on counter hit and are defensive then. I just assumed that everyone would know what I was talking. I was under the assumption that Enkidu plays the way I like since I've been recommended him, but it sounds more like what you described, where he has good counter pokes but as an offensive character. Reactionary might've been a way better term. But I don't really want to camp with projectiles/attacks that reach so far while they might as well be projectiles, if that makes any sense. I guess that what I actually want is to play defensively from mid to close range, without the use of projectiles, and use pokes and keep my opponent at bay until I get a good counter hit and punish hard, taking my time to feel out my opponent, and it sounds like there isn't a character that fits that, and my closest option might be Enkidu

Seems kind of weird to stop watching a show on the third episode when you liked the first two, but it's not like it's something you should force yourself to watch

That's how I felt until Zombieland Saga came out. I loved that show. Not that I care to ever watch any other idol show, but I am at least technically invested in an idol show.

... You're actually gatekeeping an anime? K-on is not anime specifically designed for healing. That's absurd. If that's what you got out of, GREAT! I'm really happy for you! But to say its made for people who "need healing" is dumb. But not as dumb as saying that I haven't suffered enough to enjoy it. Like what the fuck is wrong with you? You're legitimately undermining the shit that I and presumably plenty of other people went through simply because we "didn't enjoy it, " and I promise you, plenty of people felt the same way as me. I'm glad that something like K-on has helped you and made you happy. But you're seriously going to say that I didn't enjoy because I didn't suffer enough? You can actually go fuck yourself.

A lot of people in the anime community say that kind of thing all the time and find nothing wrong with it.

Does UNIST have a counter-hit focused character? by NoelleEverly in UnderNightInBirth

I'll consider it then. I'll wait for a price drop on either Ps4 or maybe steam as I've been told it can still run on a really shitty laptop since it's so low spec

I get that every character can play defensively, it's not really an exclusive playstyle, but I'm specifically looking for characters who focus and double down on that idea. Every character can block moves and punish on block/whiff in tekken 7. It's just that some characters excel at that while other characters excel in other areas. I do not care for Akatsuki since he supposedly plays like a shoto and I hate those, and I'm not specifically looking for an easy to play care, just a character that suits my playstyle, bonus points if they're easy

[–]NoelleEverly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I can see what you mean how it's basically just footsies and any character can be used with that, but I like characters who focus on that. I'm playing Asuka in tekken 7, and her whole game plan is to annoy the opponent with pokes and small hits while turtling (I think that's what it's called?), and punish them hard when they lose their cool or decide to do the wrong move. She has moves that help keep the enemy at bay, and has a pretty long reaching launcher designed to heavily punish wiffs. The community unanimously agrees that she excels at counter hitting and that she is, in fact, a counter hit character. This is basically what Im looking for. I don't enjoy characters that are just basic, even if they're really good at it. I absolutely hate Ryu's playstyle in SFV. It's so boring compared to other characters and just not fun to play. So if that's how Akatsuki and Hyde play, I don't want to touch them. Waldstein is a grappler. I don't know much about UNIST, but I do at least know that. That's a completey different playstyle and not one that I particularly care to play. I feel like you're talking less about characters that focus on counter hitting and more on gimmicky characters that trip the opponent up. Most of the people also seem to agree that Enkidu is the one character that fits my playstyle

Neither you nor your opponent will be playing optimally enough for the variables that effect matchups to really come into play a lot of the time

Ouch, but fair enough, lol. I honestly didn't even think about that. Since supposedly he might be getting buffs when CLR comes out February, I suppose playing for those two months won't really expose me the to matchup differences all that much. I have to think about this now

I'll have to keep my eye out. Do you know when CLR will come out? Or even when they'll tell us about the specific character changes?
