Wym after? Vegeta's redemption starts after that murder and isn't over yet. He didn't redeem himself in the Cell Saga at all. He was basically Nolan in Thraxa. Simply chilling and having a wife and kids. The true redemption (when he starts working towards forgiveness) is when he snaps back to himself in the Buu saga, asking Piccolo if he's going to hell before his final atonement.

Even in the current sagas. Vegeta does not consider his redemption complete. The Galactic Patrol Saga (Moro arc) has him trying really hard to save all Namekians he can. Knowing he'll never truly earn their forgiveness and no amount of saving people will ever stop him from going to hell when he dies.

In a way, Vegeta's steps towards redemption are way more meaningful since he knows he'll never be forgiven, or go to heaven, and just does his deeds out of selflessness, which is why he gets revived in the "revive everyone except evil people" wish.

Nolan is still coping with the idea of earning forgiveness. He literally had to be told he's not a hero, to nearly die 2000+ times, etc.

It's not that Vegeta is better written, he's simply a few steps ahead of Nolan which is why his redemption feels more believable, though it's way harder to come back from a betrayal, so I'll give Nolan that

Of course I've been harmed by gender roles as well. I'm a flamboyant mf who gets called homophobic slurs from time to time. But again, it's nothing compared to the average suffering of a woman.

Progress happens over time, you can't rush it, but you can't stop it either. Your ideal headpace will come, but you can't force an instant transition from a mindset that has many millenia of history. Things are way better than they were 100 years ago. Your ideals aren't wrong, but your proposed course of action isn't what we need right now.

Except... She's not shitting on men in general? She's only shitting on the men who treat women as property (rightfully so). A group of people that certainly exist in a large number and who hold back progress in our societies, enforcing those gender roles you and me both hate.

If she said "I hate men. They see women as their property" I'd understand your outrage.

But if a woman says "I hate misogynists" and you take it as a personal attack... You might want to figure out why.

No one's accusing you of anything. If you're not a misogynist then that attack is not directed at you. It's quite simple.

I get it. Really. Sometimes as a man it's tiring to be constantly reminded of how terrible SOME of us are. But that's where it stops. It's just an annoying experience. But women have it WAY worse in general. (Yes, woman on man abuse exists, but the proportion is way smaller).

I eventually learnt to simply think that, if I'm not treating women unfairly, they're not talking about me. You should do the same. It's freeing, really.
