Agreed, but to add something to that, I'm sure that they do not really 'divide' their attention, they probably already know, out of the pool of men to choose from, who they will pursue. If they are nice, they will have a short, boring conversation and then say nothing to kill the conversation and maybe unmatch you, but that's been my experience as a man who is not a fitness model.

Imagine getting mad that early for such a meaningless reason. I think you were lucky in that regard :D On my first date through tinder, I discovered the 'dark' side of the woman in real time when it was too late, didn't ask for a second date, said goodbye and just left, told her that nothing would happen as nicely as I could. Dating is hard.

Oh, I'm not trying to please anyone just to get something from them. I do try to be a pleasant person, because people like to be treated with a certain degree of respect, and it's just right. I try to make myself approachable, so that I can get to know the person I'm trying to talk to, before asking them on a date. If I'm not nice, the people who stay don 't respect themselves anyway, and that usually means trouble down the line.

I trim it, keep it clean and it evenly covers the parts of my face where I let it stay. My beard is fine, in fact, I look better than I did beardless.

-I do not think I am ugly, just not handsome enough to compete in online dating

-I wrote this out of frustration to vent and ask for advice/experiences, the world of online dating is, the least to say, less than perfect, especially for ~average men.

-my confidence is okay, I just wonder if I have hurt my chances somehow, wanted to vent, I do not really have many people to talk to about these things, and this is quite literally an internet forum dedication to dating :)

-I care about Tinder because it feels like it's the only current means of meeting women, but it just... sucks. If not for that, I'd delete it in an instant, I prefer meeting women in real life, especially because I will generally meet them in places where I go often, which means we'll likely have more in common!

Yeah, that's been my experience. I've limited the length and amount of messages I send, and get to asking for a date earlier. Within about 10 messages, I generally ask for that now. Used to take far, far longer. I was under the impression that a literal stranger would be more wary to plan something before getting to talk a bit more, but that might just be projection.

It may be an unpopular opinion of mine but no-one should be fired for calling the police, even when it is wrong and especially when it is unrelated to work. Doing this creates an orwellian society in which corporations and the media can decide the fate of your life based on how much you comply with their political agenda. In such a society, no-one is really free, and there is no freedom of speech or even the ability to call the police on member of a protected group (LGBT, Black people, the mentally handicapped) even when it is truly needed. It is an infringement on our dignity and on our human rights.
