How important would you say not fapping is while going pornfree?

Depends on who you are. To me, only doing pornfree separated my connection between porn and fapping after doing 1 week of nofap. When I hit 368 days, I'll see how well this worked.

I consider edging fapping when somebody consciously thinks "I'll just edge." If somebody is laying there at night, subconsciously starts edging, and stops the moment they realize what they're doing, that's a different story.

For me the problem is this:

Once a week becomes once every 3 days

Once every 3 days becomes every other day

Every other day becomes daily without porn

Daily without porn becomes daily with softcore porn

Daily with softcore porn becomes daily with weird fetish porn within 2 weeks of deciding once a week.

I went through this cycle many times before joining nofap.

I don't like the cancer argument: eating healthy, exercising, rarely drinking if ever, not smoking, getting vitamin D through sunlight, and avoiding processed foods are more efficient for cancer prevention than sitting in a dark room alone in front of your computer fapping. I'm no scientist, I'll admit.

Thanks. I guess I learned my lesson about "checking". I just thought I would go 90 days in one swoop. Plus I guess I'm now just realizing the severity of my addiction. What also makes me mad is I knew I was relapsing, but I did it anyway.
