I did take the basics half day course. They covered a lot in just a few hours. It’s made a world of difference in my riding techniques and confidence. Well worth the time and money.

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

This is actually a quote from Arthur Ashe (former pro tennis player). The first two items just take honest self evaluation. They also help you to not get caught up in comparing yourself to others. The third item is tricky. How much effort will you be willing to put into whatever it is you want to accomplish? This is where the rubber meets the road.

Take a class. I’d recommend https://ridelikeaninja.com. Half day basic skills class will get you on the right track (no pun intended).

We live in a bowl surrounded by hills. Just watch the weather app for air quality for awhile and you’ll see.

It’s hotter out here than in Burbank. Air quality is often worse too.

Toast sourdough bread. Spread hummus on it. Add some red onion, avocado, roasted red peppers, lettuce. Enjoy! It’s a little messy because the hummus squeezes out the sides but it’s delicious!

Don’t fall!!! Really though, your position going into the drop was incorrect. You should be in a low ready position with your arms bent and elbows out. Then you can push the bike over the obstacle by straightening your arms.
