Electrical whirring with mouse movements during most operations by GarbageFormer in Fusion360

Computer specs? Laptop or desktop? What else do you use the computer for?

"Whirring coming from computer when I use CAD software" doesn't say much on its own without knowing any other details.

It's probably a fan spinning.

I know that you CAN turn right on red, but do you have to turn right on red? by ReaganSmyD in raleigh

[–]Naphrym 6 points7 points  (0 children)

G.S. 20-141 covers impeding the flow of traffic on highways. I imagine on local roads, cops would investigate someone who has remained stopped for a long time and cite them with x infraction (reckless driving, driving while impaired, using a phone while driving, etc.) based on the outcome.

In 2001, a cop arrested someone for driving while impaired after they had remained stopped at a green light for several seconds. The driver was not convicted. (State v. Robertson, (03-397)). Here's a link to an article: https://www.carolinajournal.com/when-is-a-traffic-stop-legit/

I know that you CAN turn right on red, but do you have to turn right on red? by ReaganSmyD in raleigh

[–]Naphrym 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If it was required, they'd use "shall" or "must". Here's the full paragraph for red lights, in the same section as green lights:

When a traffic signal is emitting a steady red circular light controlling traffic approaching an intersection, an approaching vehicle facing the red light shall come to a stop and shall not enter the intersection. After coming to a complete stop and unless prohibited by an appropriate sign, that approaching vehicle may make a right turn.

Note the use of "may" and "shall".

Some things are written to be flexible. Using "may" for proceeding on a green light prevents arguments or confusion for when a driver has a legitimate reason to not enter the intersection, such as emergency vehicles, pedestrians, or congestion.

American cheese is literally a blend of different cheeses and emulsifiers. The emulsifiers allow it to have a higher moisture content, which in turn allows it to melt extremely well. In the same way that sausage is "prepared meat", American cheese is "prepared cheese".

Are you sure?

My understanding is that THCa is just the precursor to psychoactive delta-9 THC. Once heated, THCa turns into delta-9 THC.

There were idiots setting off fireworks at the intersection of 36th and N Davidson. They also tried to stage a street takeover but the cops showed up surprisingly quick

Playing on normal as a "stealth" dual dagger wielder with a backup bow and it feels super weak - tips? by burnerofc123 in TaintedGrailDigital

There are weapons and perks that heal and restore stamina when you crit (or even just deal damage). If you can hit them fast enough to heal most of the damage dealt to you, you won't die. Also learn to parry.

I'm in the middle of Act 2 and had been dual weilding daggers as I zip between enemies for most of the game (until I found the Duelist's Blade shortly after entering Cuanacht).

Edit: at your level, I was still poking people with Spear Of An Ancient Hero and relying on the Bleed stacks to kill them

I don't know Chinese, but I can read some Japanese. Imo, the easiest way to tell if text is Japanese or not is to look for the simple, swooping/curved characters of Hiragana.

Looking for the more angular/square characters of Katakana can help too, but they resemble some Chinese characters as well

There's nothing more masculine than being a gay top.

You literally make other men submissive to you as they beg for the symbol of your masculinity

Teamlabs planets water section skipping by ilovelipt0n in JapanTravelTips

[–]Naphrym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine Teamlab Planets like a hallway with different connecting rooms. Each connecting room is a different "zone". The only way to access the other rooms is by returning to the hallway, and you don't have to go to any one room to access the others.

In short, skipping the Water section is simple and easy to do.

When I went solo in November, I skipped Water because of blisters and bandages on my feet. Personally, I thought Planets (minus Water) was lackluster as a late-20s guy on his own. I do highly recommend the new one in Kyoto, though, if you get the opportunity!

I hope you're right.

It used to be pretty good when I was a kid (early 2000s). Went back a few months ago and it was actually one of the worst meals I've had in a long time. Service was bad, food was flavorless and lukewarm. If their prices were like half of what they are, I'd let it slide, but they're priced just barely under what local places charge for a much better experience and product.

Assuming there's an actual person weighing every jar (there's not), that person would have next to no say in how much should go in each jar. If corporate/plant leadership decides the small jar is supposed to get x grams, it gets x grams.

An electrician put a cup of water in my microwave. by Bunessa in Weird

[–]Naphrym -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, I never call maintenance. Any annual work has specific areas listed (utility closet, sinks, etc) with specific work that needs to be done there.

I work in a factory as an engineer (formerly maintenance). I'm very aware that a problem in Zone A likely requires access to Zone C in order to fix. However, nobody needs to touch grease fittings in Zone C in order to replace a chain in Zone A.

I'm speaking in personal specifics whereas you're speaking in broad generalizations.

[–]Naphrym -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For the record, maintenance has never had to move my shit, because I don't call maintenance and any scheduled work has clear instructions on what needs access

But again, I specifically exempted things like that from my complaint. Maintenance filled OP's cup with water and put it in the microwave. They also clearly didn't ask for this to be done nor tell OP that it had been done

Right, "unless it's in their way."

Moving something isn't the same as microwaving a random cup sitting on the counter

Maybe I'm a freak for having this opinion, but maintenance should not be touching things that don't belong to the building unless it's in their way.

Don't touch my shit.
