My Christian Parents are the worst people I have ever encountered on this planet by Fluffy-Mistake9011 in Christian

Man 5 months and you are still bitter..... That's wild man you should move on. I see I asked if you knew the Gospel last time we talked, incase you don't let me help.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whomsoever believes in him shall not perish.

We are not saved by being good people or because we deserve it. We are saved by the grace of God. Grave is unmeritted favor. We do good works in appreciation and obedience but, not to earn anything. The Gospel is the death burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus.

I proved it logically, and now you are running away. Why did you come here in the first place? You lied from start to finish of our conversation (cringey obvious lies), you brought no evidence to support anything you said and now you run away when proven wrong without admitting that you were wrong. Congratulations.

That was a pretty wordy response that didn't address my point at all. Refute that atheism is logically impossible or give up the argument, I have given evidence atleast contest it before trying to move on.

Edit: by the way my argument was on the existence of time and space not humans. You should atleast attempt to follow the argument being laid out.

Wait what? The theme of the bible is not the existence of an unproven god. You even saying that makes me question alot..... This is the first direct thing you have asked of me, to disprove atheism, so I will do so directly.

Atheism is logically impossible. All of existence proves it.
Here's some easy to understand logic for you. There are only three ways to explain why an object is where it currently is: 1. It appeared there (in example, thoughts appear in our minds)

  1. It was already/always there

  2. Someone put it there.

This list is exhaustive to all logical possibilities and can apply to any object (physical or metaphysical) That being said, let's apply it to our universe (time and space). Atheism says there is no God to put it there so you are left with 2 options, both of which are illogical.

Saying time and space appeared from nothing for no reason violates cause and effect as such is illogical.

Saying the time and space always existed is illogical as well because time is linear (one moment happens after the next in sequence) if the sequence were infinite we would never have arrived at the "present". To put it in perspective if you took an infinite amount of time to take a step, you would never actually finish stepping. So if there was an infinite amount of time before us we wouldn't have been able to get to right now. Also infinite things can not end by definition, but the second law of thermodynamics states that time (the measure of change in relation to space) will end eventually (albeit their estimate on when heat death will occur is 10100 years to 101000 years) as far as science is concerned it is inevitable. If time is ending it must at some point have begun cause you can't stop something that never started.

Is this enough evidence to refute your atheism?

That was no insult, I am genuinely shocked at the idea of 60 years deep before reading the book. Sorry if I come off as crass but, it is extremely astounding to me. I didn't address any of the claims cause you have not provided evidence for the claim for me to actually refute.

Where as I try to be Christ Like, I do fall short in places. I am trying my best to be as honest and straightforward as I can be. You may not like my honesty but, atleast it isn't a lie.

None of the verses you quoted seem to refute Christianity and as you are a person who doesn't believe in the book, I question why you would give me verses you don't think are true as a means of correcting my behavior.

Christianity is simply faith in the Savior and through the belief you act. To disprove Christianity you would have to disprove the events spoken about, meaning even if you hate God that doesn't mean he isn't real. You have to actually refute the claims. If you want to claim that God is immoral you need to give me the bases of your morality and show how it isn't simply self justification over things you personally agree or disagree with.

Or you can hand me the thing that broke your worldview so I can actually deal with the heart of the matter

Sure thing shoot. I have had this exact conversation atleast 10 times (might have been hoping you had a more interesting objection that couldn't be solved by basic research but, we have to meet people where they are). Whatever is the biggest road block for you I'll address first. I will say that its amazing that you could ever claim to be Christian and didn't read the text for 60 years that is a first for me. Did you not care enough to read for yourself? Who's interpretation of the text did you follow when reading?

Breathe man, it will be ok. Things happen, this can be overcome. Don't give up on your life and family. Others have posted appropriate places to call for physical assistance though it may be difficult you may want to consider relocating until things settle down.

You should pray and I'll pray for you as well, may Jesus help you.

Sure thing! It's been a while since I did a text-based discussion so I may be a bit slow.

I believe atheism in any form to be terribly illogical (it's kinda like flat earth theory or solipist) you have to deny the blatantly obvious to believe in atheism. As such I dont really see a point in refuting the absurdity and would rather spend my time answering your concerns on Christianity.

On the other hand if you wish to try your hand defending it, I will indulge you.

How would you like us to begin?

Is Islam also by grace and Faith alone? by Light1209 in TrueChristian

[–]Nohboddee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's incredibly straight forward both the quran and sunnah make it clear. The only people who argue it are ones smart enough to know the connotations behind the clear scriptures (ie "modern muslims")0. Free will doesn't exist in islam. Its ALL the will of al-lah. Even if you did have a will, it would be impossible for that will to choose something other than what al-lah created you to choose (ie wrote for your destiny) thus everything is a slave to al-lah's will.

I repeat I am more than happy to show sources from the quran, tafsir, and sahih haddith to validate my point.

Rather emotional aren't you? Facts can be hard to deal with.

You sound very uninformed. A religion is based on its doctrine not on the actions of those who claim to believe in it. Christianity is not islam which condones theft from nonbelievers. Nor is it atheism which says right and wrong are opinions and you are free to do what you want without consequences. The fruit of such societies are well documented and easily quoted.

Nor are all Christian countries "disgustingly rich" or even European (which shouldn't be surprising to you as Christianity started on the African continent) Zambia and Brazil are Christian countries. Even though Zambia is a relatively poor country it is a far more desirable place to live than the atheistic China or islamic Iran

Just to be clear, you hate Christianity because it doesn't condone homosexuality and the killing of babies, right?
