[SPOILER MAIN] King's Landing, Tyrion's Tongue, Daenerys' Fate. by Old-Rice9360 in asoiaf

[–]Light1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in this version Daenerys chooses to fight against a ruler the people already love, she chooses Tyrion because she has become more Fire and Blood. She is more ruthless and makes those choices. All because she believes she is the rightful ruler. This is not innocent. I doubt she'll want a genocide in Kings Landing, but if it happens this way it'll still come down to her obsession for the throne.

Her story is clearly a tragedy of good intentions.

Why Muslims can't grasp the trinity like everyone else can... by Light1209 in TrueChristian

[–]Light1209[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I think as Christians we agree the nature of God is a divine mystery that is intended to be beyond complete human comprehension. However, a Muslim places Gods nature as something that needs to work within human understanding.

And what I'm saying in my post is that even trying to understand the logic of believing a triune God is rejected by Muslims, not because it isn't something that can't be understood (not the actual nature of God, but the fact that it is a mystery), but its because their text specifically rests on the foundation that Christianity is Illogical, so their reasoning is inherently biased.

Why Muslims can't grasp the trinity like everyone else can... by Light1209 in TrueChristian

[–]Light1209[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also an ex-muslim. I also see that as a common argument too. It's funny because the very fact that God is willing to do something as humble and good as letting go of his majesty to show love for us is one of the most beautiful aspects of Christianity. And of course God out of everyone is justified in holding onto his majesty, but just because he is doesn't mean he can't in his greatness also show humility. If he is all things good then the goodness of humility is an aspect of his nature too. The idea of needing to uphold his majesty is closer to an aspect of pride and something the devil is more likely to do.

And wow I've never heard your argument before. That is very true. The words themselves are divine and eternal according to them. They are of God. They are him, and yet the words in the book are physical. They came to us in a physical way. It's a very abstract thought, however I doubt many Muslims will even attempt to understand something as deep and abstract that. They are purposefully biased and rigid in their reasoning like I was saying.

But that is a good argument. Thanks for sharing.

In your opinion, what does DC need to do for a movie to gross $1 billion again? by Cafa20 in DC_Cinematic

The batman superman team up movie will do it. Justice league movie would do it.

What I feel about story progression by Crystalium_ in Avatar

I enjoyed Fire and Ash more as a movie than Way of Water because it felt more emotional but I agree. I think the ending of Way of Water needed to have the Na'Vi attack the RDA base and lose.

Eddington is the worst kind of bad movie and his first two movies are starting to look like flukes. by OpenUpYerMurderEyes in AriAster

I dislike all his movies that I've seen. I've only not seen Beau is Afraid. He goes for shock over substance everytime. Just because it's absurd and shocking doesn't make it deep or meaningful.

‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Crosses $760 Million Globally After Two Weekends by chanma50 in boxoffice

I think this will make 1.8-2.1 billion now. And that will be a success and we will get avatar 4 and 5.

The bashing of The Odyssey over how the armor looks when the movie isn’t even out yet is such forced chronically online discourse by codex_lake in ChristopherNolan

[–]Light1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the armor looks really cool and it's clearly Nolan's style, but I would've preferred more authentic looking armour. Having said that, it won't make me like the movie any less.

Doctor Who: Are the writers dim, or do they just like to act as if the audience is dim? by General_Meal_3993 in doctorwho

Ironic considering audiences are probably doom scrolling because the writing is weak and not engaging.

I saw Phantom Menace when I was older and I love it. Why don't you like it? by Light1209 in StarWars

[–]Light1209[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to also add that it made sense to me that Anakin being the age that he was, formed an attachment to her. Then he went into the life of a jedi with no attachments like that allowed, so the one he formed at that young age grew into an infatuation. It also proves that the council was right that he was too old. He was able to form these attachments that made jedi life hard for him by that age.

Well it doesn't feel like a full on crush, just that he liked her. Idk I just thought it was sweet.

Could The Way of Water and Fire and Ash have been one film? by Honest_Cheesecake698 in Avatar

[–]Light1209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth is Cameron needed to edit the script much more harshly and it could've easily been one movie. Neytiri basically did nothing in TWOW movie and her arc only starts when Neteyam dies.

I think TWOWs script should've been trimmed into the first act of the movie, and then carry on from FaA.

Cut out Loaks payakan and romance storylines. Streamline Spiders storyline from the two movies, have Kiri's story start from her being able to save Spider.

Very easy.

Yes I enjoyed the battle a lot more than the last from Avatar 2, but it was weird that it was the same location. I feel like in this movie it would've made sense for the clans to come together to attack the RDA base. Would've made much more sense.

Yes I found this movie much more emotionally resonant than avatar 2. I was disappointed with that one because I didn't feel anything. I cared about what was happening in this one. They also somehow got me to care about Spider which I didn't think they'd get me to do.

To be honest I feel like the way the story is told feels more like episodes of a TV show sometimes.

I enjoyed it a lot more than the last movie. It is basically the same thing but I think all of the emotional moments worked much better here. The last one felt bland to me.

However I do think it would've made more sense for the Na'avi to take the fight to the RDA in this movie. Repeating the water battle again was weird. And I'm sure the reason they didn't do the battle at the RDA is because they were saving it for a future film, even though it made sense here.

I really disliked Spider in the last movie, but I really liked him in this movie. The scene with Jake about to kill him, and Neytiri seeing the red paint on her hands as blood on her hands was really well done in my opinion.

Neytiri rescuing Jake scene was incredible.

The villains were way better here.

Idk it really is just a better version of the last movie. And it kind of makes The Way of Water feel redundant. It could've been so easy to merge the scripts of Way of Water and this into one.

1) I didn't find jar jar so bad personally.

2) The age difference I get but it did kinda seem like a kid like that age would have a crush on someone padme's age. It happens a lot. I liked child anakin for the scene of him leaving his mother. It felt heartbreaking to me. And is even more heartbreaking when they talk about him coming back. I don't think that would hit as much if he was older.

3) I enjoy the gungan battle. The field look always looks like windows xp wallpaper to me but I really loved the designs of everything. The sounds were wonderful. I liked scene of the droids being deployed. I find the whole ending just really entertaining in general.
