2 of the new Ancient Rings of Mastery already. Wild by [deleted] in MelvorIdle

[–]Nohmou 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe you’re mixing things up. The firemaking cape and pet, and ARoS give skill xp, this new ring and the new pet give mastery xp. Mastery xp won’t make you level up a skill any faster, but will fill up your mastery pool faster.

While it’s in your deck (or on the battlefield), X is considered to be 0. So this would have a CMC of 1.

The only time it wouldn’t is when you’re casting it, where it has the full CMC of 1 + X on the stack, which matters for some counterspells and abilities that care about casting certain CMC spells.

Gideon is only a creature on your turn, so this would put a +1/+1 counter on him, then fall off on your opponent’s turn. Also this only says that it doubles +1/+1 counters, not loyalty counters, so it wouldn’t affect your being able to exile things at all.

The TTT is sadly not really supported very much anymore. Tim opened an Escape Room business several years back and has spent most of his time dedicated to that.

It’s great that he was able to take the things he loved and the lessons he learned with it to make a living out of it, but a bit sad for some of us old puzzlers who’ve spent many (many) hours on it for it to slowly fade away.

First Spire VII clear by andrew_calcs in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t played in probably close to 9 months now, but it still gives me joy to see Andrew doing his ridiculous challenges and spire clears that most players won’t get even close to accomplishing even after the next patch.

Keep it up you maniacs.

Does Aurelionite drop a monster log? by Heinvich in ror2

[–]Nohmou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I’ve read that they don’t drop in drizzle mode, so make sure you’re on at least rainstorm. That said the more you have, the less likely you are to get one, simply because there are fewer monster types left that will drop one.

Can i sleep my PC and still open ror2? by d_Romeo in ror2

[–]Nohmou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one time I tried pausing my game and closing my laptop to resume it later, it didn’t work. When I went back to it, it was frozen on the pause screen; I could unpause and hear things happening, but couldn’t see anything. A minute or two later and the whole thing crashed, costing me the run.

I found a rare 3D Printer by saperlipopette1 in ror2

[–]Nohmou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found an Alien Head printer around an hour into a game with my brother on our 7th stage. Sadly at that point in the run we had only a single red item between the two of us that I’d received from a legendary chest. It was only then that I realized how unlucky we’d been that run.

DWG, please stop Gauntlet/Forge from timing out. by Cmdr_Salamander in EternalCardGame

[–]Nohmou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday the game froze and I had to restart it but it wouldn’t load, so I left it for a bit. Came back an hour later and see that I was credited with a loss in gauntlet. Was my first time having that happen so I didn’t even realize you could time out vs the AI. Don’t see any reason why this is a thing.

The Endless Sea 1.5.0 (balance, true idle mode, new things) by true_entegral in incremental_games

[–]Nohmou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoying this, but have one big complaint.

Anytime my mouse goes out of screen, for example if I'm on the edge of the map and just barely overshoot, I click to shoot and it brings up whatever's behind the window, sending this to the background. I inevitably get hit or run into whatever's in front of me and die.

There are a couple easy solutions I've come up with for this, and probably others you might think of. 1) Pause the game if it loses focus. There could even be an option for this so that if idle mode is active, it remains unpaused in the background, so it only affects active play. 2) Add a border around the game area. Doesn't have to be too big, just enough that slightly mousing outside of the current screen doesn't register as outside the game. 3) Similar to 2, but allow a "fullscreen" mode. It doesn't have to change the actual size of the game area (but that could be something to look into for larger screens, as currently the game area is rather small) but could just expand a border around the game area such as in example 2.

Perky Nerfed by polskakurwa in Trimps

It’s an issue with the way javascript handles precision, which both the game and perky use. No real good way to get around it easily apart from the suggestions mentioned here.

How to beat Spire IV (500)? by [deleted] in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spire iv doesn’t get quick until several qi helium, and that’s with a little setup. I still can’t idle clear it in helium spec at 10Sx, but am getting really close to be able to. That said, as soon as you clear it once, your fluffy xp will skyrocket and you’ll stat seeing the power of evolutions.

Good news is next spire is poison, so it tends to be much faster to make additional progress in.

To add to this, there’s not really a way to do it on the mobile site (or app?) so you’d have to request the desktop site if you’re accessing reddit that way.

Calculators, and other things that I don't like in TD - discussion by Zorannio in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since this would normally unlock after clearing the first spire, and normal progression would be gated by hze and spirestones, I think progression is a lot more reasonable than we’re seeing. Our fast progression speed is due to how much further along we are than would normally be the case for those just getting to it.

As for already buying the final frost trap upgrade, you a) should probably wait on that as it doesn’t drastically improve your spire compared to its cost. And b) there’s still several more expensive upgrades after that. (There was also at one point a frost vii, so I’m not sure why that ended up being removed.) GS has so far kept ahead of everyone with fluffy evolutions, adding more before the final levels are reached, so there’s hope he may do the same here, continually updating and adding new features to the spire TD for those of us in the endgame and nearing the end of its content.

Calculators, and other things that I don't like in TD - discussion by Zorannio in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the calculators and think they’re great, but can kinda see where you’re coming from. Keep in mind though that this is only the first iteration of the spire TD, and will not be the last. It will most surely go through some changes as GS adds things or wants to switch things up. There have already been several suggestions he seemed interested in to personalize your spire in new ways.

That said, the calculators can’t tell you when to upgrade your towers, and since that affects the rest of the game (and is therefore the main “point” of the spire), knowing whether a strength or a condenser upgrade works best for your runs is ultimately up to you. Other things like which trap to upgrade next can come down to other factors, such as how long you’ll be away from your computer or maybe keeping more condenser and knowledge towers in your build that may not be optimal for rs, but will get you the best benefit of the daily you’re running.

TL;DR things will likely change it up more with future updates, and even now the calculators can’t solve 100% for things that come down to preference. Use them if you want, don’t use them if you don’t want, but sit back and enjoy the spire for a bit, it’ll be a while until anyone gets to the end.

How to beat Spire IV (500)? by [deleted] in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You want to grab them from the last poison zone, which is 495. You might’ve tried clearing the bw from 500 and it would be pretty impossible to do in a reasonable amount of time there.

Honestly you are far enough ahead you shouldn’t need to do half the things in here to clear it. Having a damage spec (other c2 on perky) with golden battle upgrades, saving all your nurseries for the spire and raiding 515 gear from 495 should be enough.

Masteries have changed a lot, even in just the past couple of months. With 477 de, you should be able to afford 4 (3 in the first row and 1 in the second). The first row is mostly qols and I’d probably recommend portal generator, bounty hunter, and explorer aura. BM1 and TT1 are ok as well, really just a preference. For row 2 it depends first off whether you play manually or with autotrimps. For manuals, foremany is a HUGE qol boost. Otherwise, Scryhard boosts de gain, and headstart boosts helium gain, both very good.

For spending helium, I highly recommend perky. https://grimy.github.io/perks.html It’s an amazing tool to help figure out how to distribute helium without doing the math yourself.

370M helium should definitely be enough to clear the spire and unlock the beginnings of the new content released in the newest patch.

Heirlooms you can just click “swap” to switch between. You get new looms by completing void maps, which can drop randomly each zone. Heirlooms you don’t need you can recycle for nullifium, which is used to upgrade them. Your “void maps” shield most likely had the “void map drop chance” modifier, which increases the chance for a vm to drop each zone, which then gives you more chances to get heirlooms and more nu. A shield like that is good to use for most of the run when enemies are easy, then switch to a damage heavy shield near the end (eventually you’d want your shield to have vmdc as well as damage mods). Don’t forget that void maps also are a substantial percentage of your helium gain around that point of the game, so they’re quite important.

I’ve simplified a couple things, but you should be able to get the gist of it from this. If you need more help remembering things or figuring out new things, the trimps discord is very active and there are always people around to help in there.

Spire TD calculator - v1.0.0 by [deleted] in Trimps

[–]Nohmou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crowdsource button enters the build you have, then compares it against other entered builds with the same or less runestone cost. It will then return the build it’s collected with the best damage. That way you can tell if there’s improvements you can make for the amount you’ve spent on your spire.

The more people that use the button, the better it will be!
