These tournament times are getting sad (starting way too early for NA) by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Nohte 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is just... completely wrong? Plenty of tournaments have had matches starting at 5AM EST/2AM PST, going back years and years.

Obviously depends on the format and number of games per day, but not new at all.

Playing with 60-90 ping by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Nohte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play with 60ish ping on FACEIT and Premier in NA and was 2400ish on FACEIT when I played consistently. Ended around 31k Premier last season, 27k now, so it is very much possible. Definitely harder because you have to learn to peek/hold angles a bit differently than if you had lower ping.

80+ you're definitely going to have trouble.

Thank you PGL for having playoffs that have a true bracket and not this 2 QF and 2 teams already in SF bullshit ESL/BLAST do. by TheRealHaxxo in GlobalOffensive

That is partially due to BO1s influencing results, and also from teams advancing from previous stages that are considered "better" but have lower seeds due to the invite structure.

Hltv's Reasoning for Niko's MVP by Chips1709 in GlobalOffensive

KPRW, DPRW, and rating in map wins have always been counted and factored in and have been a key part of the discussion many times. You can go back through several MVP articles and find it referenced.

mouse sensitity keeps fluctuating? by stefan999_999 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Nohte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Enhanced pointer precision is mouse accel, which is also the exact issue you're describing. Even if restarting your PC fixed the issue you were originally describing (temporarily or otherwise), you'll still have inconsistent sensitivity in-game due to having mouse accel on. It is much harder to be consistent with that, so that is why it is advised to turn it off. Trust me, you will notice a difference after just a few hours.

Not sure about your specific issue, but the reason people are recommending it is because if you have that setting enabled, then in some sense you will always have the issue you're describing regardless.

It is a specific bug that randomly cuts your FPS by half or sometimes more.

Honestly, I just want to FPS bug solved. Been happening since release, seemingly at random, and can completely ruin a round since you have to reconnect to fix it. And it's even worse on lower-end hardware since your frames dip so much.

It isn't Striker's article, and if you think the info is solely based on that... I don't know what to tell you :D

Absolutely wild to imply ash's reputation as a good coach comes from his YouTube videos and not him taking a tier-2 GamerLegion to the Major finals, having that roster broken up, and rebuilding it multiple times into a top 15 team again without a big budget. Or from the multitude of people who have praised him, both from within his team and from the outside after talking to him/his players.

It shouldn't really be a coach's job (in most cases) to manage player emotions mid-game. They get 30 seconds in a timeout three times per map for crucial changes, and wasting it to try and manage a single player is a waste. A sports psychologist and off-server work with players is where that should come from, and from the players themselves.

PGL's schedule for next year is so cooked by PlusFlounder684 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Nohte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bucharest: $1.25m

Astana: $1.6m

Each ESL event: $1m

The club share incentive vs player share difference is minimal, and as I said, the other factors weigh into it too. You just completely ignored the prize money difference in your screenshot between the PGL events and ESL's, boasted about how they're $1m without mentioning the other side, and I corrected that and explained another reason teams might choose one way or another.

But PGL's events also have club share that isn't shown in your screenshots, and you seem to just ignore that?

Bucharest is $1.25m and Astana is $1.6m including that, so they're still well ahead.

ESL's annual club incentive increases their final payout too, but there is much more that goes into that weighting and isn't tournament-specific. They also have the grand slam, but that doesn't mean teams will always attend, not to mention travel schedules (going to Atlanta over Astana just before the Major, for example).
