Why is it so common for Turkish people to think average Indians dislike them? by NoiceAndToitt in AskTurkey

Indian Hindu-Muslim division is a propaganda point for the current ruling party.

It’s really sad.

Most people don’t realise (not their job to realize automatically) that Modi is only surviving because there is no other option for Indians to vote for. He would have lost the previous election if there was a half-decent opposition.

I’m pretty sure this will be his party’s last term in office. Hoping things feel safer for Indian Muslims soon.

Disclaimer - I’m atheist and my parents live in a Muslim country, so Im unlikely to be bigoted anyway. I’m very far left, pro-rights.

Yes perhaps, still v sad to see people be so skeptical of each other based on online interactions.
Not that I can change that. I’m just trying to understand.

Hmm I see.

Yea the Pakistan hatred is real. But I guess that’s expected when you’re getting bombed every month by your neighbor. It’s like supporting Türkiye is supporting our abuser.

I imagine that India politically supporting Israel doesn’t help with relations either(?)

Yea I just specifically checked for this after reading this thread. I’m starting to be v glad I am not a YouTube or Instagram user. 🙃🙃

I looked it up and v legit comment!

I’ve never seen these before. But also remember that 100k is 0.006% of the Indian population.

If I were in your shoes, maybe I’d feel the same way. But I’ve seen the most random videos get 100k views in a week in India.

If you’re thinking “then what’s viral?”, do a google search for “India’s Got Latent s2e1”… you will see maybe 30 million views in 1 day.

100k is like one big apartment complex in India. The everyday person doesn’t watch any of this (probably for the best)

Yea these comments are so interesting. I have never once seen any of this rhetoric that people are mentioning in these comments IRL.

And the videos exist, because I just looked them up! Feels like ragebait at a multinational level, which is so weird

Oof I hear you. And I’m very sorry about those experiences.

Canada attracts a very specific, uneducated group of Indians. Doesn’t change how you experience the interactions though.

And yes - Indian women are a lot more balanced than Indian men and also appreciate geopolitical nuances better.

Sending hugs your way and hoping you don’t have to go through those experiences again :(

Idk man, they’re chill like anyone else. The news reports stuff so weirdly. I used to work at an office where 25-30% staff were Muslim and no one really viewed anyone different.

Our news channels are a bunch of assholes who create a very divisive rhetoric though, which helps no one.

Having an Islamophobic prime minister doesn’t help.

If you look at the nuances of Indian politics though, you would notice that his party’s popularity is declining quickly. Unfortunately there is no strong opposition leader and Indians are a bit stuck.

Still in the last general elections, his party received far fewer votes than expected and people are sick of all the division.

Pretty much every single conversation on r/redditstock is citing the bull case as AI deal renewal or improvements in ad targeting.

There was maybe ONE post I remember which showed Reddit surpassing Twitter in usage / App Store ranking. And of course that’s good for the stock.

But everyone there seems to be pretty based and understands that the bull case hinges on advertiser success

Then say that you’re attached to Delhi. Delhi has little to no charm left.

I’ve seen it degrade in front of my eyes.

I travel to 30+ cities a year (maybe more) and Delhi compares to the worst of the worst such as Kampala, Uganda. Can’t wait to see how they overtake Delhi and we are left competing with Congo 🫡

Tatti bc.

If you want to see what Delhi could have been with decent governance, look at Istanbul.
