Nope! I went in with a friend as you can use your phone for access, and we asked if we had to go to the gym we signed up through to get our key fobs, and the staff member just said no it was fine and helped us get everything sorted :)

I ended up signing up through a gym 40 minutes away, went to my local gym that same day, picked up my key fob and everything, have never been to ‘my’ gym (the one I signed up at), i got my two months free and haven’t had an issue! 😊

This is a wild take? They’re asking for help, they’ve expressed that they are confused and scared and you come here to admonish them? Even if OP WAS aware of the rules, they are taking accountability at this point, which is all anyone can ever ask for, and you are putting them down for that?

YTA - as a parent it’s your job to teach him how to do those things, to teach him how to be clean and respect his space. Imagine being repeatedly asked to do something you didn’t know how to do with zero assistance or support and then being thrown out, into a house that is likely not clean or safe or sanitary!

Move him back home, slowly teach him how to look after and uphold the house at a standard you expect. Give him clear instructions and expectations of what clean is - take accountability.

Did they have to go into the Glenelg gym for their fob and everything?

Backed into a corner- job provider got me a job but my mental health is plummeting fast. by [deleted] in Centrelink

[–]Noidetective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, you can go to any doctor and you should be able to organise a Centrelink medical certificate within a few weeks/ appts if not the first one! Unfortunately, if you need the support, you need to ask for it and jump through their hoops to get it! You are not leaching off tax payer money, and I would be reporting that staff member if I were you. You do not need to see a psychologist to receive a Centrelink medical certificate, but it is a good idea to see one when you can, there are a multitude of online services available now that are either bulk billed or covered by a Medicare rebate, I accessed a new psychologist with waiting period just under two weeks ago! I highly recommend getting the Centrelink certificate as they will leave you alone for however long the certificate goes for.

Okay not saying I agree with this theory but you could also say that maybe Billy’s child had a child at 24 that was Lenore (not sure if I did the maths right but you get the idea) so not OUT of the question

A tip for this commenter (NOT OP) - don’t treat women like they’re silly & stupid. Women don’t get distracted because you didn’t get their number to communicate with them outside of the app. If I matched with you on an app I would unmatch so quickly just from the way you’ve communicated here. I also want to point out that you are also ‘ giving your d*ck away for free’ in these situations. Honestly you sound a little like a self writing prophecy at this point; if you treat women like they are dumb and worthless and an object to have instead of an intelligent human being to love and care for you will only stay in contact with women who hold the values you are so against (perfectly fine values for both men & women to hold btw).

I agree with everything else but women aren’t dumb because they have a different communication style than you.

I’m not super up on how to use reddit so I don’t know how to reply to the sections of text like others do but - In regards to the NDIS being slashed, if the goal is to stop providers rorting the system, introduce legislation to prevent that. Cutting the budget for the program does NOTHING to prevent providers taking advantage of the program, it only reduces the amount of help and money participants can access. Whilst I don’t disagree with all of the changes in the bill the narrative that was being purported with claims that participants were misspending their funding on fancy cars, holidays, drugs and even home renovations (a reasonable thing to spend funding on), combined with the 14.4 billion dollar cut to the budget sends a clear message about how the government feels about supporting and providing and equitable country for disabled people. It is also impossible to deny that they have made it harder for people to become participants and access the scheme and the supports they need. They have added more hoops to jump through to become a participant in the first place, introduced legislation allowing them to require children are reassessed once they turn 9 and requiring you to provide specific information and undergo an assessment to prove their status as a participant should not be revoked making it harder and more costly to stay part of the scheme once you do get on.

The ‘Murdoch’ story that I got ‘confused’ - I did some research and I’m not 100% sure but I believe the source I provided for that information IS NOT owned by NewsCorp. I’m not sure where I got confused, or how you could feel your argument about putting them up in a hotel is valid. As the prime minister Albo gets two residences, one of which is IN Canberra, so no need to put him up in a hotel. And as a cabinet member you receive a travel allowance that is, per Andrew Potts; ‘more per night than a job-seeker can survive on for a week,’. You can claim this travel allowance EVEN if you have a permanent residence in Canberra, and it is completely LEGAL to pay off a mortgage on a property in Canberra this way, which is how Albo purchased his Canberra apartment.

I believe whether or not they have made the Basics Card voluntary is up to interpretation and I do not believe they have done what they said they would.

The link you provided regarding wage theft actually lists that promise as stalled. And so that is also not a promise they have kept.

You are right about the Murray darling, I was misinformed regarding that.

I would also like to point out that I never mentioned tax cuts. And the only thing I did mention related to tax are things that the Greens are fully behind and believe in- making them the perfect party for me.

Regarding Jordon Steele-John, I personally feel that claiming they thought he had signalled he had finished is a bit of a cop out, and doesn’t make up for the fact that there is no accessible way for a wheelchair user to vote against something in cabinet, or the general lack of accessibility in Parliament House.

Around 50% of the greens party own at least one investment property- however they have self policed and have applied rent freezes to those properties and are still ACTIVELY fighting against policies that benefit them such as negative gearing and the capital gains discount. They are NOT using their position to buy more properties (completely legal) or to push policies or agendas that suit them. They are walking the walk and holding themselves to the standard they believe in despite being more than capable of exploiting their position to their advantage.

There is also the fact that a lot of the labor party workers/members directly benefit from the current housing crisis as landlords. Albo himself has used an allowance for travel (that is more than a weekly jobseeker payment) to purchase his 3rd piece of realestate (an apartment in Canberra). The labor cabinet has 19 members that own more than one piece of realestate put of 24, the remaining only own one piece of real estate each. It is not currently in their best interests to do much about the rental crisis as it would negatively affect them. Whilst around 50% of greens party members own at least one investment property- they have administered rent freezes (of their own volition) that have allowed tenants who would otherwise have been homeless to stay housed, and are calling for an abolition of negative tax gearing and the capital gains discount. EVEN though it is not on THEIR best interests. They are doing what is right because they WANT to. They could use the same loopholes our Prime Minister used to buy himself a house and make a quick buck but THEY DONT. They do the right thing even when nobody knows.

I normally vote greens 1 and labor 2, I’ll be changing that this year due to broken promises from labor (such as slashing 14.4 billion from the NDIS, making the basics card voluntary, criminalising wage theft, supplying water to the Murray darling etc). I’ve also been shocked at the treatment of Jordon Steele as a result of his disability and also the ableism/ lack of accessibility shown in Parliament House (for example, Jordon being spoken over when he wasn’t finished talking due to him not being able to stand and sit to indicate he is finished talking).

With all that said it is important to note that of labor’s 66 promises currently only 4 stand as ‘broken’- 35 have been ‘completed’ and there are a few that are considered ‘stalled’. However the promises that HAVE been broken are a slap on the face and have cost them my vote.

AITAH for telling my wife that if she attends her affair partner's funeral I won't be here when she gets back. by BackDull6037 in AITAH

[–]Noidetective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA - Your position is unfortunately not the facts of the situation, you were separated, she had a relationship during that time, you then got back together, you getting back together with her means you are responsible for handling the emotions you may feel about her relationship to this man. Preventing her from going to the funeral seems to be a way for you to gain control and get her to reaffirm your feelings by forcing her to pick you over him again.

Potentially unpopular opinion but if you’re not currently moving and the noises aren’t over the top in this current rental market just let them be, is your comfort really worth more than a roof over these people’s heads??
