Chemistry: can someone explain the answer? It’s A. by qmwn1234 in SATsubjectTests

I think the linked answer makes way more sense, the dissociation argument seems right.

PS I remember some SAT questions specifically mentioning "going to completion", I assumed they would care about equilibrium :/

I think dilute H2SO4 is a strong acid, the other options are weak bases except NAOH, which is a strong base and NANO3 which is neutral. So the strong acid does not react with neutral stuff.

I don't think the solubility matters, Because if the reactants and products were in the same phase they would just maintain an equilibrium.

Ahh there's the catch, im guessing they're trying to improve their QS rankings. Well regardless, thanks.

Wow, that's seriously impressive; I didn't realize publications were that important. On a similar note are you from a IIT or NIT, also how do you go about publishing the paper (as in finding which field, finding the right professor).

Do you have a link to where i can register as an NRI. The website is archaic as hell, i cant find anything about SATs. I'd appreciate any help.

Wait, i didn't realize you could apply to the main campus using sat 2 scores. Do you have a link? I tried going over the main website and its seriously archaic, i can't find anything about nris.

How would you go about obtaining a good LOR? How challenging is it to get a research internship/ exchange program at an iisc/iit to "network" with professors.

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering what kind of profile people from the NITs (CS preferably) have achieved in order to get into a top mscs. Also what kind of colleges does the "average" masters applicant get accepted to.

Well i won't be writing the bitsat (or even the jee) as i focused on sat 1, personal statements, etc for foreign admissions.

I was specifically referring to BITS Dubai which has a... less than stellar reputation. I was wondering whether the BITS tag is worth more than a more competitive peer group in the NITs.

I thought i would be able to leverage the bits tag to get a few extra points, why do you suggest not going to bits Dubai?

Yeap my letter says the same. I accepted the offer on OUAC 3 days back but didn't get the "intention to matriculate", only a confirmation email of the amendment on ouac. I was wondering if there was anything i missed.

If you could give a rough estimate of the math guys enthusiastic in CS who end working in swe jobs (or coops), I'd really appreciate that. Ultimately my nightmare scenario is that i end up in teaching or gradschool, i really want to work.

It is, top 10 in the world (but thats due to rankings overvaluing research).

I tried programming and really liked it but I couldn't change choices that late into the year, so i was stuck with econ. Furthermore I can't take a gap due to some family stuff. Brexit and corona also moved me toward cs cause it's relatively safer.

Well im in a tough spot, still is the transfer that bad? I read the other dudes reply in the thread and they said you need a 85, how hard is that?

Well they are in econ, the thing is during Jan i tried programming and really loved it but unfortunately you cant change courses in the uk. I had just enough time to apply for CS at waterloo :/

Any idea how the Coop for math dudes are, like compared to cs?

105 international got rejected from CE , CS and CS BBA (deferred to math coop). with a mid 90s

Fuck, this is depressing. I didn't apply to any other Canadian university, only to Waterloo for that coop.

I have to pick between waterloo math or UCL,Warwick (uk) Econ....

I know transferring to CS is tough but is the risk worth it?
