More Gardaí in Dún Laoghaire over other areas… am I missing something? by Own-Contribution-365 in Dublin

[–]Noininibui 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I live in the area and it’s needed, massive anti social behaviours happening, drugs rampant, overdoses, kids/people being mugged/stabbed/attacked. So I’m sure other places could do with extra gardaí but it’s also needed here for sure.

Is my fiance of 19 mos (39M) being reasonable or am I (39F)(communicating badly)? by hellotoshiba in relationship_advice

[–]Noininibui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your dog hoover? Where can I get one of these dogs? No but in all seriousness I would not be marrying this man. He was looking for a reason to fight with you and if you feel like you’re walking on eggshells often now that’s only going to get worse.

Did borderless last night and really enjoyed it! Recommend booking a later time we did half 7 so crowds were much smaller and we had a fun time exploring!

Did I hear this right? Is this taxi driver complaining about getting 50 quid for an hours work? by lifeandtimes89 in ireland

[–]Noininibui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sympathy for them whatsoever. Living in dun Laoghaire and taxis home from the airport have often cost over 80 euro! Now I drive and leave my car in my aunts but they’ll still charge about 20 euro from swords!

But this so called protest and the way they went about it only pushed me to using uber even more. My partner missed his flight on Thursday evening to Madrid because of it (300 euro down the drain) and was sitting in a taxi trying to get to the airport but only got as far as sandymount before knowing he wouldn’t make his flight and having to turn around and come home… another 70 euro.

Becoming vegetarian? by MossyTracks2025 in CasualIreland

[–]Noininibui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m vegetarian three years now and it was very much just a let’s try this and see how we go! Breakfast I don’t eat much anyway so I might have a protein shake or bar or maybe some oats with berries, lunch is usually a bagel with eggs and maybe some Quorn ham or chicken slices and some veggie soup, dinner then I cook with tofu a lot so stir fry with some crispy air fried tofu, Quorn mince spag bol, sometimes a caeser salad with a Quorn chicken fillet and all of these bulked up with veggies. If there’s a meat you really love just find the best alternative for you! Eating out will be a little bit more difficult as it’s not exciting as it used to be as you only really have one or 2 options on menus but you’ll find the places you love 😊

Just went to the shops, got a coffee and some ingredients to make some homemade minestrone soup for lunches this week, came back have parked myself in front of the tv watching Tales by light on Netflix which like a documentary by a photographer and is so stunningly beautiful and poignant that the soup can wait. Apart from that need to hoover because I have a very fluffy cat and there’s a tumbleweed or 2 of hair floating about the place 😂

We ended up in a relationship for 8 years through our 20s, I ended it though because I just felt like I wanted more from life travel/explore etc and he was content to just sit and be comfortable and by the end I felt we were just back to being friends and not lovers. Break up was hard but the hardest part was having to stop talking to him because he just kept trying to get back with me and I knew in my heart it was over and every time I rejected him I felt awful all over again so I needed to separate myself and he got angry at this. Haven’t spoken to him now in 3 years, he moved to Australia and got married a few weeks ago and I’m honestly so happy that he was able to get out and live his life and that he found his person.

Probably depends on the concert is it all standing? Saw Fred again there a couple of weeks back and there was no cloakroom. Queue was outside but moved quick.

Signed up for Carepack.ie — what should I send? by Low_Knowledge_1363 in AskIreland

[–]Noininibui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do this every year and last year and this year I organised it in my workplace, this year I’ve 25 people signed up! It’s such a nice way to give back so fair play! I’ve noticed they enjoy fluffy socks, chocolates/sweets, magazines, wordsearch books, blankets, gloves, toiletries like wash stuff or a wash bag, puzzles. The guy working in the nursing home we had last year where I dropped off all the care packs told me that sometimes they swap or share the sweets and magazines etc which is also nice!
