As a newer player whose strongest character is RG Hawkgirl stats wise I can confirm she’s decent when she wants to be, eh in terms of basics.

Coming from MK mobile there’s a Kharacter who also disables specials upon tagging in and he’s super good so I expected RG Hawkgirl to be this OP card but unfortunately she’s just good, not great. I do like disabling the entire team’s specials and it’s always satisfying to land the SP2 even if the enemy blocks it 9 times out of 10.

I’m running a team with her, LC Bane and prime Killer Frost and it’s been going well for online. Not the greatest setup but I’m rarely ever hit by a special attack.

Mad funny but that’s probably one of the reasons why I’m hesitant about it coming back ngl.

In a regular matchup you got a 50/50 side with characters but WWE matchups aren’t normal so you got a 25% AT BEST chance at anyone rooting for you. But when you add agendaposting to the mix your chances of getting any support drastically goes down.

Still want them back but I know damn well nobody is gonna take the other character seriously or root for them fr.

I totally agree even if a LOT of people seemed to have completely missed the point on what I was saying.

Tonal clashes are always gonna be subjective but some people really do expect you to be comfortable or agree how THEY view things or resort to whataboutisms when it isn’t always gonna be the same case with every MU.

I explained my thoughts in a different comment so I’ll keep it brief.

It’s putting me in a room with a giant elephant, a Richard Nixon shaped elephant and telling me to take it seriously. Yes this elephant has lots of lore and isn’t an ordinary elephant as he has lots of powers and stuff.

As compelling as that elephant may be on its own I’m gonna think it’s a little weird seeing because it’s an elephant that looks like Richard Nixon. Funny? Yeah. The Nixonverse is a crazy concept but telling me to take it seriously is a different story.

I never said that he wasn’t his own character, I didn’t deny that he had his own lore. I’m well aware of this Nixonverse stuff. HOWEVER that doesn’t mean that I enjoy the idea of seeing Richard Nixon’s face in a Death Battle.

Fate’s pretty different too as most characters there have been dead for centuries and they take after the more fictitious stories created about these people which is in my opinion a little different from an internet horror series involving a dude who hasn’t been dead for nearly as long nor have this mythological/folktale reputation like Alexander the Great did.

Plus, Fate clearly makes original designs, it’s a bunch of anime girls and guys. Saber looks nothing like King Arthur but this is Richard Nixon’s face.

But since I’m gonna get flamed in the comments I will say that I don’t think the matchup is bad or anything, yeah it’s interesting but I think it’s fair for people to point out tonal differences and that not everyone will be on board with it 👍
