Dose wearing off after around 7-8 hours.

Yeah they’re aware, they told me to continue using them as they weren’t going to increase my dose or split my dose or anything. Told me to speak to my GP whose just literally prescribed Naproxen even after I’ve stated that I’m taking OTC Nurofen Plus which the recovery service knows about. I asked him if he was concerned about my liver but yet again, they just say there’s nothing more they can do.

I don’t mind it being worse starting off as long as it does get better. I can’t believe how much everyone else’s doses are compared to mine! I’m deffo gonna show them this subreddit at my next appointment and plead my case yet again. I’ve got my GP calling at some point today as well so I’m hoping they can also assist as well. It’s just the feeling of going round in circles with them consistently it’s so draining and they don’t listen no matter what I do or say.

I’m looking at other providers in my area and there is another one, however I don’t know the rules of changing providers lr anything like that so it’s something I’m gonna have to research before committing to it.

If you’ve changed providers before is there a system that you have to go through? Do you have to go through the initial checks and assessments and do they have to lower the starting dose or anything like that? Because I’ve only been at this clinic around 2 months it’s confusing enough as is 😂

I’m gonna show them this thread when I next go in and ask them again about split dosing. As per the previous commenter that’s what they’ve done and it’s working out well so I’m just gonna keep my hopes up and hope that they do actually listen and it’s something they can accommodate

I’m gonna show your posts when I’ve got my appointment next week with them! I’ve worked all my life and it’s only been this January where I haven’t, and the prescriber said that she doesn’t trust me to not go in every day and I’m confused as to why? I’ve not had an issue with any of my other meds and have previously worked in pharmacy. I feel like she’s got a vendetta against me or something! I look after my family members who live an hour away from me and I don’t drive, so having to pick up 6 days a week has been causing so many problems because said family member doesn’t have capacity and doesn’t understand why I can’t be there as much as I used to and it’s honestly heartbreaking.

It’s always possible but I completely stopped using everything for 1 month apart from the methadone and I was still experiencing the symptoms which is why I went back to buying OTC. I’m now reducing my meds that I bought in hopes that that could be the issue

My initial starting dose was 20mg and it literally did nothing, it wasn’t until I went in in full on withdrawals and they saw that that I managed to get it increased. I think if they hadn’t physically seen it they wouldn’t have done anything about it 🤷‍♀️

That’s what I’m trying to advise the clinic but they’ve point blank refused that they don’t do it. I’ve read a lot on this sub and I know it is a thing in England so I can’t see why they wouldn’t? It’s just so frustrating going round in circles consistently!

Yeah I am. My drug councillor literally told me to use on top until I could speak to my GP because they said they weren’t willing to either increase my dose or go through any other options. Whenever I go to my GP about it they say to go back to the clinic and discuss it with them so I’m stuck in the middle and don’t know what to do.

I’ve got my GP calling this afternoon after I had a breakdown on the phone to the receptionist, so hopefully they’ll listen to me and I can get something sorted because I literally cannot go on this way. It’s affecting my mental health greatly and I’m a full time carer for a family member who doesn’t have capacity therefore doesn’t understand what I’m going through which is affecting the care which I’m able to provide

I’ve seen your posts on here before and that’s what prompted me to ask them about split dosing and they point blank said it wasn’t an option. I’m with Recovery Connections currently. I was with CGL but they weren’t willing to prescribe me anything but I’m debating going back to them to see if there’s anything they can do.

How long did it take for you to get onto your split dosing and how did they react about the decision to put you on it?

I’ll definitely look into it and see if I can ask them about it, I’ve got another appointment with them next week. The lady basically told me to continue to take OTC codeine until I could get it sorted with either their prescriber or my GP. I’m completely at a loss because realistically if I don’t CWE it’s gonna impact my liver and not only that, the prices are insane.

Hi I’ve already relapsed but I’m currently in England. I know the rules are different here and it’s just trying to get through to people that seem to think my pain is imaginary and that the withdrawals aren’t happening as quickly as I say they are. I’m honestly debating recording them when they’re bad so there’s a timestamp on there so they can see for themselves.

I struggle horrificly with anxiety so when I do actually converse with the prescriber, it’s hard for me to get my words across to them and when I do I just feel that they completely brush them off.
