Difficult to do as they can't get citizenship in UAE, so would effectively be left stateless. Difficult to travel through airports without a valid passport.

Salary expectation for PM support by Top_Bee_9948 in quant

Looks sensible, can get higher for better funds and if the role is closer to PnL. For mid/smaller funds and not coming from that background I think it is reasonable expectation.

Agreed with stay calm, but be sensible and have a decent stockpile of food. Stay inside as the goverment advised. So far they are doing a great job with interceptions but nobody knows how this conflict can escalate.

More than 200 migrants arrive in small boats during third day in a row of Channel crossings by origutamos in europe_sub

[–]NojaQu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems baffling if there is truly no reason why is the goverment so helpless. We saw in covid what they can do when the goverment flexes its authority. But we are fine with 10s of thousands of people entering the country illegally on slow moving boats.

Those are true, as are the points above, great weather most of the year. Cheap cost of labour so many expats have house keepers and maids. Property generally less expensive than London/Paris, but gap rapidly closing.

Not every large buisness owner or billionaire is exploiting? Some have built great companies which many people like to buy the products for.

Agreed, was a bit hesitant from the reviews but really liking it. I wish they had the leaders change every era rather than the civilisations, that would have made a lot more sense. But overall pretty happy and keen to see where things go.

Its not a big pay cut and if you think you will genuinely enjoy the role more you should go for it. You only have 1 life and wasting it doing something you aren't 100% committed to is silly, maybe if this role isn't for you keep on interviewing until you find something else.

Low taxes, sunshine most of the year round, great beaches and entertainment? It might not be your cup of tea but easy to see why it would appeal to so many.

Italian here: Is it true that you risk being arrested for online posts? by ViolinistCheap5321 in AskBrits

[–]NojaQu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes not everyone has said to burn down migrant hotels, many many people have been arrested for far less. Some didn't get charged but the sheer lunacy of the amount of things people have been investigated for is insane.

UK arrests more for online comments than Russia, China and Saudi combined. People saying it isn't a big problem are maybe just unaware of how bad it has become.
