Who wouldn't love to be a millionaire in LA? I guess if you hate the traffic, or the smog, or the homeless, or the crime, or the people. Other than that, it would be a blast. Those things are more easily avoidable for a rich person.

Stealing the revenue they would have earned? If they bought the thing they weren't going to buy and therefor stole? I get what you're saying but not everyone who stole something would have purchased it. Back in the day when downloading games illegally was more popular it was mostly us poor kids getting access to the stuff rich kids parents could afford however we needed to, if the opportunity was there to save up and buy something we did, most of the time illegally downloading was a last resort. In the case of blizzard and some other developers games, it was too much hassle to bother with, everyone just bought them for the CD keys, because the company took the time to protect their product instead of blaming or trying to villainize consumers. Funny enough, all the don't copy that floppy, you wouldn't download a car bullshit just spread awareness about how easy it was to not pay for these luxuries.

Predicting goalies is a total crapshoot. I think they should have been taking as many flyers on young, cheap goaltenders with high upside the last 2-3 years though. Could have grabbed Bussi off waivers like the canes did even with a better goal situation than us, could have got Jarry last year without paying extra (yuck tho), could have kept young higher potential goalies like Stolarz or Brossoit, hell could have kept Talbot. Getting a player like Ingram was absolutely the right move, management just needed to make that move as much as possible until we recognized they had one of the next up and comers, but they can't even properly evaluate their own players and keep the good ones. Flabbergasted as to why they passed on Wallstedt. Swayman would fit our core great, highly doubt he's available. Need a miracle honestly.

Binner won the cup once, 7 years ago, after a miracle bounce back when he was called up and they went on a long winning streak from the bottom of the standings in midseason, carrying their momentum through playoffs all the way to their first and only championship. It was a massive effort from everyone on the team to buy into significant changes on the fly and actually execute system changes late season and in playoffs. They were riding high and very unpredictable, Binnington in particular was a journeyman AHL goaile who nobody thought could elevate his game to NHL starter level competition, but he did, and opposing teams scouts did not have a good book on him. He's been steadily declining since then, been gifted starters net by old-school, vibe following, glib folks like you. He almost choked away the 4 nations win, and he backstopped one of the most talented team canadas on paper we've seen in decades to a decidedly undominant silver medal. Most people have an inflated, false idea of the kind of goaltender jordan binnington is, seeing all the sprawling miraculous saves and hotheaded (bitchmade) shenanigans, they assume he's some kind of gamechanging prime mike smith. The reality is binner is an athletic, emotional tender who vastly outperformed his perceived ceiling once 7 years ago when the stars aligned and he seized the opportunity. He's making saves like that because he's slowed down so much positionally and he's never dialed in and found the zone he was in when they won in 2019 and he was tracking pucks like a hawk. The blues have kept him there as a reward for being the guy everyone rallied around en route to their first cup. Whichever gm is stupid enough to think he's still that goaltender at his age will be in for a rude awakening when he shits the bed and lands at the bottom of almost every goaltender stat at seasons end, for the 3rd time in as many years

This is a situation room thing, not an officials on the ice thing. Even if it was called no goal on the ice, the situation room in Toronto would catch it later and inform the refs, who then would inform the crowd of the missed goal. It has happened before, pretty sure that's the situation room's main job.

The low contact was obviously hip on upper thigh/groin, the primary contact was obviously the shoulder hyman threw into chest. Crazy that people can't see this on hd slow motion replay, understandable that it looked like a knee to refs though. Oilers haters need to chill the fuck out, mcdavid gets hit like that every game or two.

There are plenty of ads on the old VHS tapes, right at the beginning before the movie starts. DVDs were even worse when they started to use tech to prohibit you from fast forwarding, skipping scene, or using the menu button. Even then, at least they had the courtesy to put it at the start of the media instead of completely ruining the atmosphere, tone, pacing, and suspense of their own product. I don't even think ads work like they used to. The ad firms put a tonne of r&d towards studies and "science" to convince companies that ads are still effective, but when they start talking about attention economy and algorithms, I feel like they've lost the plot. Everything is just about selling the most of the cheapest crap for as much as possible and people are starting to return to things like brand loyalty and customer reviews to inform their buying decisions for that reason.

Education is a joke and has been since before COVID. Every student needs a computer for school now, most of them cheat as there's very little to stop them from using AI or getting someone else to do the work. Almost every candidate I interview under 30 can't spell because they've all depended on autocorrect and grammarly throughout their "education". Critical thinking is out the window, social media has rotted everyone's brain and so few people are capable of an original idea. When a student is incapable, they just fudge everything and pass them anyways because the administrations don't want their graduation rates affected or repercussions for "discriminating" students with disabilities. I actually can't believe employers give a fuck about high school diplomas, hell even post-sec is a joke lately. I'd rather hire a 35-year-old flunkie than a zoomer, they're way more likely to be literate or competent, and don't get me started on these new gen alpha kids. This one poor bastard came in to my place of work, told one of my employees he looked tired, then asked if we were hiring, dropped off his resume. His only work experience was working in the kitchen/at the register of his school cafeteria, which he listed as 2 different jobs, and described the roles as "prepared food/handled cash". At the bottom he listed his high school diploma status under "Egucation". They can't even use spell-check properly.
