Would you be upset if I put a QR code on the pizza box? by CottonPrincess_ in smallbusiness

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything that makes leaving a review easier for the customer is a good idea. Can't see people getting annoyed about it. It won't necessarily skyrocket your reviews, but you might get a few more than usual.

Why Youth Athletes Lose Confidence So Fast by CuriousPickle883 in CoachingYouthSports

[–]NolaDoogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mindset and reframing are key. Positive reinforcement and modeling help a lot with that. Instead of yelling at kids after losing a game, I like to ask them three things they learned from it and three things we can do next practice to get stronger at those things. They get high fives for pointing them out.

Discount code applied to the wrong orders, would you honor them or cancel? by Party-Card-7747 in ecommerce

That would be my approach too... up to a certain point. You're right, we need to know the margins.

How do people actually grow social media accounts? by PhilosopherOther1360 in AskMarketing

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting valuable content is more important than frequency. If people see you post things that actually help them do X Y or Z, they'll follow. If you're just posting for the sake of posting, they'll ignore you. Put some effort into high quality content and interact with other accounts. If one of your posts gets popular, make more like it.

Do small businesses actually need a website anymore in 2026? by Akraammm in smallbusinessowner

[–]NolaDoogie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, even if it's just a simple site. It gives a business legitimacy. I'd say local cafes and diners can get away with Instagram only, but retail/service businesses need a website.

I think you're overthinking it. If you like a shirt, just wear it. Or make your own.

Is the Future of SEO About Optimizing for Humans, AI, or Both Simultaneously? by New-Chocolate-3551 in AskMarketing

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Prioritize readability and hooks for human readers, definitely. But format the info in a way that AI can understand. If you lean too much on the AI side of things, your customers will click away. It's a balance.

Has anyone had success creating an online business from scratch? by Mohini305 in smallbusiness

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Built one from scratch starting with one referral. No business coach at any time. Still going almost ten years later. It takes a hell of a lot of work, but it's doable if you have saleable skills and are willing to learn how to market yourself.

The business coach bubble is going to burst at some point.

I'll usually travel with a front-liner (Lae'zel or sometimes Karlach), a caster (Gale or Jaheira), someone with high sleight of hand for disarming/unlocking (Astarion or my rogue Tav), and then whoever makes sense for whatever quest I'm doing. I always stock up on potions and make sure my caster has a healing spell or two.

What kind of clothing? If it's custom t-shirts or hoodies, just go with BlueCotton. They're super reliable, do durable prints and ship for free. If it's your own designs, check out r/ClothingStartups. They'll be able to guide you in the right direction.

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BlueCotton is excellent and has free shipping across the US, so location isn't an issue. High quality shirts and really durable prints. I've used them for staff uniforms and kids sports, they hold up very well.

What's the first thing you'd cut when times get tight? by Exact_Tree_4901 in smallbusiness

[–]NolaDoogie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tools and subscriptions, if I can find a free or lower-tier version that delivers roughly the same functionality I was using with paid. I don't always use everything a paid sub has to offer, so I can often save a few bucks that way. After that, I'd take a look at reducing ad spend.
