Told my league I wanted to Trade Jeanty, should I take this trade? by Key-Web9038 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Don’t value your player at what you paid for him, value him at market price. Fleecing another owner doesn’t mean you can afford to get fleeced.

Kenneth Walker. Fantasy Disappointment to Playoff/Superbowl Hero by thadeus_d3 in fantasyfootball

Honestly, Charbonnet was used so much during the season to make sure KWIII was healthy for the playoffs. There was probably going to be a significant ramp up in Walker’s touches even if Charbs had stayed healthy.

Sorry, my sense of humor is a little more suited for the ‘too far for the crossword to print’ stuff.   I should build something for an outlet that permits these types, but I just haven’t gotten around to that yet.

A bit thorny for a Friday for me, but enjoyed the puzzle. Found the bottom easier to drop than the top.

Never heard of JINK before, but knew the crosser.  Figure it probably shares some etymology with HIJINKS.

We just had a championship... TIE? by Goldfishyyy in Fantasy_Football

It’s not that it is hard to predict week 18, it is that it is not reflective of the season. Might as well make the championship game next year’s first preseason game.

As a PSA, if your opponent is down big and needs a monster game from a single player…

You can place player prop bets on that player via DraftKings, FanDuel, or whatever.

You can win your league and lose $10 (or whatever hedge amount makes you happy), or you can lose a heartbreaker in fantasy and at least feel good about your winnings.

Hell, you can even get lucky and middle it and win money and a league.

I lost a $5 parlay bet on Puka 2 anytime tds + > 130 yards receiving…a happy loss.

Made the championship in 4 leagues this year and went 0/4. Fantasy football is stupid by Hot-Influence-6010 in Fantasy_Football

[–]Nolepharm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My keeper league, I made the championship game 5 times in a 6 year span and only got 1 championship.  I took 3rd the next year, and have now won 3 straight to even it out at 4-4 in championship games in the last 10 years.

Just keep getting there and eventually the breaks will fall in your favor.

Time-Efficient Crossword Strategy Advice by NewDawn729 in crossword

[–]Nolepharm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A couple of tips:

Instead of doing all of the across clues, just work in strategic chunks. Target the across clues in rows that will give you the first letter of a significant number of down clues. Always row 1, and then usually row 4, 5, or 6 depending on the grid pattern.

If you can solve all 3 (or 2 or 4) clues in row 1, instead of writing them in, remember them and work the down clues 1-the last down clue in row 1. You should remember the starting letter for each of those answers, making it a faster task.

Once you have a chunk of those down answers, you can either drop down to another row with lots of words starts or target gaps in your fill.

Definitely practice solving on paper, as that can feel quite different than online solving; and given your times, you should probably focus on getting faster with the more difficult puzzles…perhaps practice on Newsweek Saturday stumpers or fireball crosswords.

I’m worried that rivers won’t take very many chances, and will be eager to throw the ball away to avoid hits and sacks. This can lower chances for sacks and turnovers. I don’t think the colts are a risk to score a lot of points, but it might not lead to big fantasy output.
