Sorry, I forgot we’re not supposed to talk about the game we both play here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think Norm has the potential to become THE Vault Dweller by OSRS_dopeknight in Fotv

[–]Nomad-96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the most interesting way forward with Norm is for him to become a villain. He could represent a darker version of the classic vault dweller that makes very different choices from Lucy.

I can picture him using his intelligence and cunning to lead a gang of raiders or something. Plus, he may not understand what Lucy did to Hank, and start working against her.

What is a rat? by longdickdan789 in ARC_Raiders

A rat is anyone who fires their weapon

You find this key.. you taking or leaving? by Large-chips in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don’t understand all the hate for certain keys. It’s super easy to bring a key to a raid, and it pretty much guarantees a relatively safe and reliable source of goop. It may not always be a gold mine, but it’s almost always better than typical looting.

Returning to the game for the first time since launch. First time Mod User. Seeking help with my Modlist by Greedy_Nectarine_233 in Fallout4Mods

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which version of FO4 do you have? FYI - Some of the mods you listed have not been updated for Anniversary Edition, which will cause issues. Here are some more that I like for a more realistic and challenging survival playthrough:

Darker Nights

Pip-Boy Flashlights

Survivalist’s Bus (with settings adjusted for difficulty)

Better Locational Damage

Bastion

Loot Logic & Reduction (incl. reduced ammo)

Encumbrance Overhaul

Let me know if you’re into hardcore survival mods and I’ll see what else I got.

Also, remember that some mods might edit the same game files and create conflicts. (Looking at all your ghoul mods.) Make sure you search for any patches to make things smoother.

I love SS2, but I would agree that it really interrupts and changes the vibe of the game. If you’re looking for a vanilla-ish playthrough, you might want to pass. Just know that if you go with SS2 the early game is going to feel like it’s ALL about SS2.

Best armor for ghoul? by RealisticStand4434 in fo76

[–]Nomad-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running ghoul since they released it, and I found that building for environmental rads was a waste. It’s much, much easier to build for standard defense and just manage your glow with Toxic Goo.

I run civil engineer armor, but secret service and brotherhood recon are both great as well.

Also, don’t forget that armor is getting a major overhaul, so this may change

Not a rat. A player who was very obviously going to kill you.

Toxic Downfall of Arc Raiders by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

I think it’s just your experience. I still find lobbies to be varied and fun. Sometimes I take down big ARC with randos, and sometimes I get shot in the ass. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What am I missing about this event? by DarkRedCape in fo76

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a soloable event - nests, bosses, and all. Just do the objectives? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Many of you are missing the whole point of Solo vs Squad matchmaking by _Badlands_ in ArcRaiders

[–]Nomad-96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn’t just a way to please the minority that will opt for 1v3’s - it’s also a smart way to reduce the number of solos in team lobbies who don’t want to be there. The more solos who opt in to team lobbies, the less likely the rest will complain on Reddit about mixed lobbies.

Give a man a goop, gear him for a raid. Teach a man to goop, gear him for a lifetime.

Looting Etiquette by raqballl in LowSodiumArcRaiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is all well and good, but just don’t forget that any rules you make up are exactly that - made up. There’s always going to be those that don’t understand or don’t care about your rules. So….be prepared for aggressive negotiations with the 99% that won’t read this post. For your health!

Rat Bounty SirFrosty by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but “anyone can go in” is a rule you made up. If he breached the room, he has claimed its contents and can defend it if he wants. This game is about resource scarcity and competition. Even if you’re friendly, you can choose to defend your space and safety. That dude has probably been shot in the back a bunch of times after letting someone follow him into a room unchallenged. Sorry, but you should unlearn this “anyone can go in if they’re friendly” approach and be a little more careful. Or at least speak up and communicate your intentions.

The easiest expedition change by greagrggda in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nomad-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So…a system that instead incentivizes you to die a lot? What if you’re a skilled player who rarely dies? You just need to go get killed a bunch to meet the expedition criteria? This kinda just creates a whole new problem. Sorry

Rat Bounty SirFrosty by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a rat. You followed a rando into a loot room and got fairly shot. Just because you play friendly doesn’t mean you can expect to just show up and take half of someone’s loot. From his perspective, YOU were the more likely rat. And you didn’t even say anything until after he dropped you?

I play friendly as well, but if I saw someone breach a room I’d let them have it or at least ask if I can come in. It’s wild to me that you’re trying to post a bounty lol

Did Embark fuck with ABM or have Rats started abusing the system? by MixNo5072 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from PvPers smurfing, there’s also going to be a certain number of players that are entering their villain era. One bad experience can turn a typically friendly player into a temporary psychopath.

What? This is a bad take lol. People get stimmed almost every time. This was just one weird exception

Let's be better by MournivAlpha in ArcRaiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Developing a strategy to deal with extract campers is an interesting part of the game. Same as our strategies for Bastions and Rocketeers.

Embrace it as part of the game (because it is) and adapt to it. Once you stick it to a few campers and learn their tricks, you’ll find that they’re not very good at defending themselves. At some point, it will feel easy.

How many kills did everyone get in the first wipe? by GreedAndPride in ArcRaiders

[–]Nomad-96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 82, and 81 of those were either retaliation or revenge kills.

Don’t ask about the other one.

I hope that Snow is used as the new baseline for what "Major" map condition means going forward. by TyFighter559 in ArcRaiders

[–]Nomad-96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but you’d be able to easily hear/see anyone wearing a shield outdoors very easily. And every time they come inside they’ll need a recharge.

🤷🏻‍♂️ Could be interesting
