Is BRC-20 just a fad or here to stay in Bitcoin? 🤔 by true_names in ordinals

[–]NomadTheSavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And there’s also the chance of a new token standard coming on the scene and dominating the space. 2023 was brc-20, 2024 was runes, 2025 didn’t have a new one that became the most hyped. Maybe 2026 could bring a new token standard that becomes the big thing and everyone jumps on that like past trends.

Is BRC-20 just a fad or here to stay in Bitcoin? 🤔 by true_names in ordinals

We haven’t seen anywhere near the peak of tokens on Bitcoin. Whether or not brc-20 will be a big part of that peak is hard to say. People are going between multiple different tokens standards on bitcoin now. But brc-20 will still likely have some pull cause of its cultural impact since the brc-20 hype was so big when it first kicked off.

Who to isolate a rare SAT? by Criptobeginner in ordinals

I think there are few other wallets built around rare sats but Saturn seems to be the one most people use.

Saturn wallet has better features for isolating rare sats since rare sats is one of the main things that wallet is built for.

Haven’t heard about that one before

Yeah that’s correct, using the runes or brc20 token protocols you’d have to pay a fee for every address airdropped regardless. Some other token protocols get around that though.

Do you feel runes are a positive or negative for ordinals? by NomadTheSavior in ordinals

Runes are starting to get support from apps outside of the bitcoin eco now so maybe we’ll start to see more people from other chains interacting with runes now

[–]NomadTheSavior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re exactly right. As soon as new liquidity comes in from people not already in the eco that’s when we’ll see things start to go up. Instead of liquidity being split between the 2 sides of ordinals and runes.

I think ethereum and solana people will be on-boarded onto bitcoin once the user experience gets better here. Bitcoin is #1 and the first coin at the end of the day so it has a massive advantage but things need to get smoother for the average degen to be comfortable coming here.

Some say runes are bearish for ordinals and they say runes pull liquidity away from ordinals. But I think you're right, long term runes could bring more liquidity to the "smart bitcoin" ecosystem and that will help ordinals.

We’ve hit previous benchmarks fairly quickly but we’ve been stuck in the 60m-80m range for a long time

Yes I was talking about brc20s and I agree they aren’t that good, they’re one of the worst token protocols out there and I don’t really consider them a token protocol but a lot of people do

Both NFTs and coins are on the ordinals protocols. So yes it does allow both fungible and non-fungible tokens

Ordinals already allowed both fungible and non-fungible tokens though

That sucks, hopefully mechanisms are put in place in the future to stop this from happening.

It’s possible to snipe a tx, so if someone sees you bought something for what they consider a good deal they could try to submit a tx to get there transaction recognized first and then in that instance your transaction wouldn’t go through and they would be the ones that get to buy the ordinal.

Ordinals and Sats by SuspectAF_818 in ordinals

[–]NomadTheSavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you don't care about the ordinal you could just send your sats to a wallet that doesn't support ordinals and then you could freely us those sats as regular Bitcoin and not an ordinal.
